QB - Cassel was essentially who I thought he was. I figured he would throw 1 or 2 interceptions. One of them wasn't his fault at all and was all on Terrance Williams, more on him later. He has the ability to move the offense, but is not a starting caliber player. The coaches should have focused on the run to help him a lot more, especially early. First drive, we ran it down their throats, but rather than punch it in, they asked him to score for them. We got 3 instead of 7. He is definitely better than Weeden though.

HB - McFadden, a lot of people were down on Darren, but I kept saying give him an opportunity and he'll show what he can do in this offense. He absolutely took this game over and should have been given the opportunity to run more in this game and in previous games. Also think Christian Michael should have been given more opportunities in this game. Think he showed a lot of good things in a small sample size. I would have Randle be the 3rd running back on the depth chart at this point. I think our running game is going to be just fine. If they can run like this when they expect us to run, we will do well once Romo and Dez are back. Bet the coaching staff makes Randle the starter next week though if he is healthy.

WR - Brice Butler is probably better than Terrance Williams at this point. Terrance Williams as I've been saying for years now is absolutely worthless. He is a lazy player with terrible hands and terrible work ethic. He makes the occasional big play that will make fans fall in love with him and his "potential", but he should never be counted on for anything. Cole Beasley disappointed me as both a receiver and a returner. Got bullied out there and I think he was thinking too much about trying to make a play on the last return. He shouldn't be the returner. I've never seen so many fair catches in my life. I also think Bissachia should be fired though. Special teams is a mess. He never gets real room to return, kick returns are terrible, and kick coverage or punt protection has always been a problem under him.

Offensive line - Offensive line played a great game. Not sure why we didn't run more or why Cassel didn't stand in the pocket more. He was only sacked once. That's one thing that Romo was able to realize. You have to keep the play going to make things happen. Collins is definitely the starter going forward. Doug Free needs to be replaced.

Defense - The defense played an inspired game again. Allowed only 13 points. And 3 of them alone were on Carr being terrible. People think we need to draft a QB, we need to draft a secondary and we need to draft a nose tackle. Not necessarily a 330 lbs tackle, but someone who can help stop the run more than Hayden. McClain would have been nice. Hardy is a great player. Glad we have him. Still need more out of Demarcus Lawrence. Byron Jones is going to be a great player for us one day. Giants had no offense tonight. Special teams and offense gave this game away.

Coaching - Thought Linehan called a much better game, but still didn't call a complete game. Thought Marinelli did a great job generally, but blitzed when he shouldn't have. Coaching staff seems to do a poor job evaluating talent. Don't play people until they have no other choice (especially on offense).

Refs - Refs jobbed us pretty early I felt. But in general they called a pretty poor game.

Season - Not sure if this team, even with this defense can make it to the post-season at this rate. Really needed Dez out there today. He has to play next week. Our destiny is no longer in our hands, but I don't think the Giants will have much success winning out either. The Eagles losing was really good for us though. I think with this defense Romo could have really done something special this year. I still think they should make a trade for someone to help us like Alshon Jeffery. I would trade Williams and a 3rd for Jeffery.

I still don't think this defense is all that. If you literally cannot get a single turnover in 5 out of 6 games you are a failing defense. They got lucky today when Ruben Randle dropped a long pass wide open or NYG would have had 34 points not 27.

They're weak in a LOT of areas on defense and special in none.

there was not a whole lot about the game today I liked at least McFadden showed and the line showed other than that most every body else mind was not there.

Ok they blew the Atl and NO games. In fact in the prior 3 losses they surrendered 95 points. They are setting records in turnover futility.

The defense is not good.

The defense is not good.

The offense hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire either.

They scored 20 points against a Rob Ryan defense.

They didn't score at all in the second half against an average Falcons defense.

The offense stinks too.

No argument there the whole team stinks.

It's apparent there isn't much there without Romo.

How are you going to move Randle to third runningback? He had two rushes for 24 yards before getting hurt. Michael had 5 for 18. I get it with McFadden but Michael showed nothing even when both the other runners did.

When it's personal bias, just call it that. It's not based on anything shown out there today.

Coaches did Michael no favors. It was an obvious run whenever he was in the game.

GMAFB there is always going to some excuse. He had a 13 yard carry. Otherwise he was 4 rushes for 4 yards. Facts. He ran the same plays as McFadden. He shows potential, but he still hasn't earned carries ahead of Randle. Not even close.

Call it what you want. Anytime #30 was in the game it was a run, save for the pass where Cassell got his clock cleaned.

The Vikings received a 1st, 3rd and 7th for Harvin.
The Saints received a 1st and Unger for Graham.

I don't think it costs less than a 1st for Jeffery. Though the bears were stupid enough to trade Marshall for a 5th so I guess you never know with them.

Regardless, I don't want to give up any more high picks AND have to commit that kind of $ to the WR position this winter. Especially when that 1st Rd pick could be a top 10 pick.

You would think that Claiborne would be the man to target, but it was Carr as usual. Scandrick and Claiborne seems like it would have been a better deal, but that's just hindsight, and opposing quarterbacks have to target "somebody". I wish nothing ill toward Carr, but the "writing on the wall" is beginning to glow. If the Cowboys are going to become a vaunted defense, then guys in man coverage are going to have to win their battles on third downs...definitely not give up 30+ yd strikes.

Cassel? Nice first half...then it seems that somebody put magic mushrooms in his water bottle. Totally inexplicable second half. They will have to find a balance between aggression and prudence...good luck to them in that endeavor. He had some really nice throws but was simply too error prone.

Butler...physical, huge target...good hands...bad quarterback throwing to him in the second half.

Williams...the deep floater has a chance with Bryant on the receiving end...he might have at least batted it away...Terrence is not that type of receiver. Stating the obvious here...without Bryant, Williams is really struggling to be a number two. The Williams-Beasley combo have showed how limited they are when the big dog is out. The loss of Bryant and Romo has exposed the WR corp and the less than prescient summations of the front office on Romo's backup. What it shows is that after Bryant, there isn't much...and after Romo, there is even less.

Hardy...Huge talent...great player, but the Cowboys cannot have sideline meltdowns happen regularly going forward. This could be an issue that causes the Cowboys to say "no thanks" to Hardy at the end of the year (depending on Gregory). You want passion (not belligerence), but even Bryant was in Hardy's face. Not a pleasant development and it will cause more negative media attention...something the Cowboys don't need right now.

Hayden has never been the answer at 1-tech...it is Cory Proctor all over again. His negatives outweigh his positives.

Special teams continues to haunt the Cowboys...the Beasley experiment should end...some way, somehow...Hardy is on to something.

In the end...too many mistakes by Cassel in the third quarter. This was indeed a gifted win, on a day when Manning was never going to play loose with ball as he did vs. the Eagles. Winning is a good salve, but when will it happen and will it be too little, too late when it does?

Call me crazy, but I felt the Hardy meltdown was fine. That's the problem with this team. Too many people feel comfortable when we make bad plays. I remember seeing Edelman drop a pass or something of that sort on the Patriots and he had a worried look on his face right after. There's obvious repercussions for bad plays. I remember Hardy for calling Coleman out for playing lazy. Hardy is a guy that wants to win and if you want to win, you need guys that don't take nicely to losing and messing up on the field.

McFadden ran the ball well even when the Giants anticipated run.

I don't think there is any doubt DMc earned the right to be the starting back at least next week.

He was phenomenal. I do think Michael needs at least 10 carries because we can't keep giving McFadden 30 plus and think he's gonna hold up. A lot of miles on that body.

A lot of turnovers come as opposing teams take more risks. Generally a functioning of being down or attempting to keep up with opposing offenses. No one fears this offense, so they know to take what the defense gives them. Not an excuse, but an explanation.
