Why do I get the feeling the defense is gonna play lights out and the offense is gonna bite the big one…….

unless of course the offense and defense peak at the same time which hasn’t happened for a quarter century…….but it is possible, especially in week 1

Love the attitude. Defense seems to be working as a unit for once

However....If we still struggle to stop the run it's all meaningless and going to be a long season.

First time I'm actually concerned about the offense over the defense in what seems like a life time lol

With the Bucs OL issues it wouldn’t surprise me if we shut down Brady and their offense only to lose because we struggle to score points.

i think we’ll score because early in the year KM brings out the new stuff. Our problem is adjusting when teams catch up

We led the league in scoring last season and I don’t see us coming close to that this year. Not just because of the OL issues and the receiving corp but the Cowboys are talking about running the ball more. Committing to the run can keep your score down and limit big plays. We do need to run the ball better but this is a passing league and we’re going to be very challenged trying to hold down some these QBs we’ll be facing. If we try putting too much on our defense we’re going to be in big trouble!

Quinn has the defense working as a team. He has a few stars but hasnt been calling them out as carrying the defense. Thats usually a good sign of the players working as a group. They quietly had 5 turnovers in the last preseason game and were the reason for the win. Players seem to be in the right place at right time
Dont see any big weaknesses on the defense.
Just hope I'm right about them and it carries over to the regular season.

DT remains a bit of a question mark. We have guys that look to have the talent to breakout, but really need someone to emerge that can create some mismatches in the middle.

Agreed. We’re not the only defense that can play lights out. Tampa be drooling at poor Tyler moving out to LT as a rookie and just 2-3 games of practice all preseason.

I know it's just talk, but I like his answer. LFG!

lol..... hes already talked, and in that quote hes talking about it.

All talk is garbage. Like Parcells said, you are what your record says you are. But YOU like to think your way of thinking is best. Did you like when a certain coach said, a few days before the NFC title game.... " Hey, I'll clear this up. We're gonna win the game. You can put it in three-inch headlines. We're gonna win the game."

Bet you freaking loved that talk, right?

Quinn has the same philosophy as Parcells. You are what you are. This is a great defense if it plays great.

We have Osi, Gallimore, Hill, and Ridgeway. They also drafted Bohanna to at least attempt to address the space eater DT people wanted They appear to be a solid group. While they arent the NFL's best group I dont see them as a concern. Like you said Osi and Gallimore keep on appearing to be on verge of breaking out. If either does or Hill finally lives up to his potential they could become better than average. Sure you would like an Aaron Donald,Randy White, Bob Lilly type but we dont have one and a good coach will be able to work without 11 all-stars or compensate for their weaknesses. Quinn has done that so far.
I just hope he keeps it up in regular season plus its the offense that I'm worried about

So Quinn is talking about not talking about what the Dallas defense can do? Okay.

Weeeeell, they kinda didn't have an answer to the run game, TB Receivers were wide open left n right n center and Brady was missing most of his O line. Yes 19 points doesn't sound too bad but I think they played worse than what the scoreboard tells us.

Not saying the defense was bad (as in offense bad) but I don't know if they can "carry" this team. If anything they hand us too many wins so we miss out on the high draft picks. Stupid situation to be in for them...

You are clairvoyant, sir!

I’ve been saying the entire offseason that the offense has come way down from what we’ve seen in previous seasons. I argued with a fan just a few days ago that the Cowboys aren’t going to be the high scoring team they’ve been. Now with Cooper Rush as our QB it’s going to be interesting to see how long it takes before we score our first TD of the season.
