Passing on Moss was one of Jerry's smartest moves.

As I say all the time we will agree to disagree. Moss is in no way the best wr in history.

Jerry's always breathin' easy, he's sellin' plenty of Romo and T.O. jerseys, that's what really makes him tick. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

No doubt. And he has a new stadium on the way as well as hosting a Superbowl.

Maybe his breathing is a little labored as he puffs on his $100 bills.

I said best wr in the first 7 years of his career history.lol

And i still think if he did not go to oakland he wouldve continued on the path of being the best ever but that path has dissapeared.

But anyway if we did get Moss we probrably would not have gotten T Newman or Roy W so i guess i do agree with you.:D

Ok you got me on the 7 yrs thing but I'd still take Harrison over Moss.

Chan Gailey would not have known what to do with Randy Moss. He would probably take him out of the game on some 3rd down passing situations like he did with Irvin. Gailey liked his small receivers.

Dallas could have had a good receiver in Moss. I still don't think they win a Superbowl with him. The team was losing depth on both sides of the ball and also no longer had the dominate lines they had when they were winning it all. The probably don't go 5-11 for 3 straight seasons with Moss on the team, but that is about it.

It was not a great decision to pass on Moss, but it was not even close to the main reason that Dallas has not been a contender. It is not worth lamenting in my opinion. The drafting of guys like Quincy, Goodrich, Dixon, Ross and many others that were huge reaches is something to lament. They are also the bigger reason Dallas failed and would have failed even with Moss on board.

No kidding.

We have a lot of posters who saw Moss dominate for a few seasons during their formative years and will forever be convinced that he's an all-time great. It won't matter if he doesn't catch 20 more passes the rest of his career.

If we win another superbowl in the next couple of years or so with Romo at the helm, I couldnt care less if Quinn is the next Peyton Manning, which he is not.

Right, he may be the next Eli Manning....:laugh2:

IMO it would have only mattered if he had won one with Minn and even then 20 other teams passed on him also.

I don't disagree. Knowing what I know now, I still would have taken Ellis. Having said that, you know that's how it will play out if he has success in New England. For whatever reason, people will always elect to look past all the negative things Moss has done and do exactly the opposite where Ellis is concerned. Just how it works IMO.

No arguement from me on that. I wonder if the other teams that passed on him have the same debate? lol

I think Jerry's breathing will get more difficult as time passes. It happens to a lot of people as they get older.:D

I wish he'd get busy and puff his way to a 6th Lombardi, and quit exploiting the franchise.

Good question. I suspect not nearly as much discussion occurs outside cowboyszone. JMO.

I know this is an old discussion but when will Jerry breath easy again?
I doubt that Jones has experienced breathing difficulty at any time following his selection of Anthony Spencer--although he may have held his breath until that very moment.

The chance Brady would start and acutally win more games than Romo are very slim.
You got that right.
Dallas 67;1539768 said:
Can you believe the news if it really happened?
Yeah. "Rookie QB Has Great Season". So what? It happens occasionally in the NFL.
Dallas 67;1539768 said:
it will be a discussion this year so what's your answer to the pass on L.J. pass on Steven jackson pass on Moss sorry about that one.
There is an undeniable truth. You can't have every 'great' player. You pick the players you settle on, move on and hope for the best. That is, unless you can sign the 'great' player who was passed in the draft at a later date. :D
Dallas 67;1539768 said:
And now Jerry puts all his faith in a undrafted QB that faded down the streach last year.
And yet, it should also be noted that it was a slick football (yes, I said slick) and his inability to hold the ball for a probable game-winning field goal which ousted the team from the playoffs during his first year as a starter--not his abilities as a quarterback during the down stretch of the season.
Dallas 67;1539768 said:
Will Quinn haunt?
Only for those who cannot let go of players who were never drafted by their team.

Jerry should smile because Quinn may holdout for more money. With Romo wanting more money, you know what you are getting. Quinn has not played one game and is in no position to ask for money.
