I agree.

We should basically hand over the keys to the franchise to him. He may even come up with a cooler name than the Cowboys.

When you are talking about a looking at a guy for a 90 man roster, the opinion of a coordinator should be important

Mincey is a weakside DE.

He has played that in the past, but if you watch him, he is best suited to the Strong Side or as RDE on base downs that is replaced by a speed rusher in the Nickel.

Mincey would move to DT in the Nickel in some of the games that I reviewed.

Not to the extreme that exists here.

If Marinelli wants him, I'm okay with it.

Apparently leading this team to the worst defensive performance in the history of the team impressed a lot of people. Rob Ryan did a much better job while he was here.

Marinelli did an outstanding job with the DL last year. He got contributions from numerous street FAs. Our d did stink. Not surprising when you lose the previous year's best DL, lose the 3 tech you expected to start, lose a couple of guys expected to be part of the rotation, and have your hof pass rusher hobbled for most of the year

I agree. The worst defensive performance in the history of the team was impressive.

He did. To a street free agent level of production.

The guy's amazing.

Was it very different in 2012? When the Cowboys had a better coordinator and a superior scheme?

The Rod Marinelli love is probably one of the most laughably ridiculous cases of overrating that this fan base has ever taken part in. It's to the tune now where the guy is some great talent evaluator who should be making decisions in our war room.

That's a lot of respect for the Detroit 0-fer.

I like Marinelli a lot, but all of these guys that he "got he best out of" were guys that had nowhere to go but up....I think we need to temper our enthusiasm for everyone else's cast-offs with a grain of salt....I think Marinelli is the right guy for the job but he is not midas...I am very interested to see what he can do with the crop that they have brought in, but all of these cuts that are being cut for reasons other than salary should not be considered...

He did get career years from Hatcher, Selvie and to an extent Hayden.

Why not just bring in every scrub on the street,[/B] hey? Oh wait, we already have 90 players signed up... Geez, why would
we want a castoff from arguably one of the worst teams in the NFL... You don't ever get better doing that.
Why is it that every time some has been, never was player gets released someone says bring him in...???

They tried that last year, and it didn't work out so well....:)
Right, don't need to keep bringing more in, I think they have enough to generate some decent camp competition. These others aren't going to be any better than the ones already on the roster.

Agree on selvie and Hayden...but the more I see from Hatch, the more we got "career year" in a contract year...I appreciate everything he did for the cowboys (truly), but I think he was playing for his last big contract more than what Marinelli did for him, I dunno, not trying to bash the guy at all, I just think this was more of a money move with hatch (and it worked)

Let Groves seek employment elsewhere. Simply put, he just doesn't generate enough passrush to be considered a "rushman."
What we already have in house is probably more likely to generate pressure than someone who's never really done so to date.

Dude. Nick Hayden is a rushman.

It's not an exclusive club.

No Kiffin led the defense last year, Rod was just DL coach

I agree some but you can't compare HC Rod with DC Rod. Two totally different jobs.

That being said 0-16 is just sad
