Quirky Characters

Yep, General Steel. I remember that episode. At the very end, Morgan asks one of the Black Pilots to do a song and dance bit. Everybodies looking at each other and finally he does the bit himself. Mississippi Mud I think.

One of the movies I love, even today, is Support Your Local Sheriff and Support Your Local Gunfighter.

Bruce Dern as Joe Danby is great.

Jack Elam as Jug May (I think he was funny in both pictures) is also one of my favorites.
Loved those movies and, you're right, Elam was terrific.

Chuck: Jeffster

And Mannequin is awesome (as far as I recall).

How could I forget Barney Fife?

Yeah. He wasn't the first, but I think of him as the ultimate example.

Megan on the Bridesmaids (she was hands down the funniest in that movie).

Doc Holiday - Excellent call Hos.

Dwight - The Office

House - I know he's not lesser, as obviously he's the star of the show, but none the less one of my favorite (probably my favorite really) TV Characters ever.

Zach on Bones

I think my all-time favorite character of this type was Maynard G. Krebs from The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis TV series of the early 1960's.

As a kid watching reruns, I really enjoyed that beatnik. He was a great character.
