Here's a cold piece of reality for everyone to enjoy...

Being a "division champion" means NOTHING.

It's simply a consolation prize for the teams that can't get it done when it matters... in the playoffs. When I think of somebody celebrating a "division title", I immediately think of those unfortunate fans whose teams have never reached true glory.

There is 1 winner and 31 losers each year, PERIOD.

Let the Philly fans celebrate their heralded "division championship" as if they're Super Bowl champs... the Dallas Cowboys have reached the mountain-top 5 times and counting. Anything less is failure.

Don't let something as trivial as a "division championship" distract you from our ultimate goal... the ONLY GOAL... to win the Super Bowl.

You want to know what this loss to Detroit does? It makes us play @ Seattle then probably @ Chicago in rounds 1 and 2.

Had we won and Philly lost? It would be us playing vs. NYG then @ New Orleans.

Is anybody really HONESTLY more comfortable with the latter route over the former? I'm not. I hate to see the Cowboys look as pathetic as they did today, just like everybody else... but this could end up being a blessing in disguise.

Yes, we're playing like garbage right now, especially defensively. But it's a whole new season next week, and I'm getting pumped just thinking about it.

If we do beat Seattle, we'll all be thanking Detroit for sacrificing the #1 pick in the draft (and their franchise QB, Brady Quinn) to give us an easier road to Miami. ESPECIALLY if the Giants can win in Philly.

WHO ELSE IS READY FOR THE PLAYOFFS?! :starspin :starspin :starspin

Well, normally being an optimist, I just have to say.

NOOOO.

I think we all deserve some time for a tempter tantrum (as long as it stays within board guidelines).

I hear ya. And I was going to take it easy tonight. Maybe to the point as to just stay home. Luckily the place I am going to is right around the corner, even walking distance if I really want to. But will just have my son come pick me up later.
Was going to be drive, 4 beers over a few hours, go home. But now who knows what will happen. :laugh2:

why do we discount Seattle like they are going to be an easier opponent than the lions who were one of the worst teams in the league.

our team is not going to change in the playoffs. this is not a flip the switch team. we didn't flip the switch on against the saints, eagles, or even the lowly lions.

face it. this enormously flawed team is one and done.

Yeah...which explains why Parcells was so upbeat in his PC...because this game meant nothing.

OK..whatever you need to believe.

Any local high school team has a better shot at playing in the Super Bowl than this group of so-called Cowboys. They're absolutely terrible and have ZERO pride. Face it and get over it.
