(read in the tone of "twas the night before christmas')

Twas the Night before draft day and all thru the house

My draft guides were scattered, and the lights were out

The Rankings were hung by my TV with care

With the hopes that Mel Kiper would soon be there

Here I am nestled all snug in my bed

with visions of a linebacker blitz in my head

now the GM's are in the war rooms and me at my house

Staring at the TV quiet as a mouse

When on the TV they started to chatter

I sprang from the couch to see what was the matter

Theres been a trade Tags said with a smile

and you could hear their fans screaming for about a mile

a player is picked, to someones delight

causing others to fuss and fight

Lawson or Carpenter everyone asked

either answer is gonna get you bashed

when all the teams finish, and the clock goes off

we will see on TV Merril Hodge going off

"I once sucked at football so I must be right"

"NO TEAM DONE WELL IN THIS DRAFT TONIGHT"

As Mel Kiper slaps him and Steve Young laughs

Michael Irvin checks his pockets to find his stash

Now Bermans on TV the show is at an end

Kiper still stomping ,Hodge again and again

and I heard him exclaim as the lights grew dim

"YOU *******S BETTER NEVER TALK ABOUT MY HAIR AGAIN"

I read through your poem with rosy intent
Hoping to find just how our draft pick was spent.
But nary a prediction was woven within
A draft poem without such is surely a sin.

So weave us a tale of our linebacker to be,
Tell us a rumor of taking QB's.
Make crazy suggestions like trading way up
Only to take someone who can't fill a cup.

It's not that I don't appreciate your work
And I surely don't want to come off like a jerk.
Just come right on back with rhymes that might stick
And tell us exactly who you think we should pick.

:laugh2:

I admit it. Pretty blatant attempt on my part to pass the time until the draft. My watch is definately running slower today than yesterday.
