___

"I think our team got better today and I think I became a better quarterback today, without doing anything." — Cowboys quarterback Drew Bledsoe.

"It was much more than the commitment from the team economically. It was the great head coach, the outstanding tradition, a team on the cusp of being a Super Bowl contender. You've got everything you're looking for." — Owens' agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

___

"He's in tremendous shape. On top of that, he's a competitor. We feel he can be very productive for us the next three years." — Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones.

___

"As long as he's in a Cowboys uniform, if he does the celebration on the star, they'll love him for it." — fan Russell Davis.

"Had things not fallen the way they've fallen for Terrell over the last several years, you never would've had a chance for a player of his talent, caliber, competitiveness. .. Nobody would've ever let him out of the fold." — Jerry Jones.

___

"I'm going in with my eyes wide open." — Bledsoe.

___

Why don't I believe that. The number he used yesterday was 7 teams. I think the Cowboys were bidding against themselves.

Ya know what BDC, I think you are right about the 7 teams. I honestly think there were 3 maybe 4 teams interested. KC, Denver and us. Maybe one other team. But in the end I don't think we were bidding against ourselves. I think we were bidding against TO himself. I think Jerry had a figure in mind and a way to structure the deal to protect himself and the team. I think TO and Rosenhaus had to give in on some of these demands because there was not the clammoring for TO they thought they would have.
