Was it ugly? Yes. Was it embarrassing? Yes. Was it the worst loss we've suffered in the Dak era? Yes.
Was it a away game against a tough AFC team? Yes. Was it in a stadium where even the Patriots lose? Yes. Are we still tied for the lead in the NFC East? Yes.
Were there any new long-term injuries to major contributors from yesterday's game that could have a huge impact on the future of this team? No, I don't think so.
All yesterday proved was that we're not as good as we looked in week 1. Okay, that's fine. I think we're all better off living in reality than having a party because we looked like a Super Bowl team over a team that wasn't ready for us.
Some good Aikman teams had terrible losses. Some good Staubach teams had terrible losses. Lord knows some pretty good Romo teams had terrible losses too.
Did y'all see anything from the Commanders or Eagles yesterday to suggest that the Cowboys can't win this division? I know that knee-jerking based on the previous game is a great hobby for most of us, but don't let the bigger picture get away from you.
It's a good team. Not a great team yet, but we're moving in the right direction. There will be backward steps, sure. But the strongest swords are forged in the hottest fires.
So relax. We're going to be fine. And we'll probably beat the snot out of Arizona on national TV next week, so we can all go back to exclaiming how unbeatable this team is again.
