610 Sports Radio in Kansas City reports that Ty Law has agreed in principle to terms with the Chiefs, pending a physical.
Kansas City's 610 Sports reporter Rhonda Moss reports the deal is finalized, but Law appeared on another Kansas City station just yesterday saying the Chiefs were only one option.

WEEI in Boston (i think) is also reporting the agreement.....

don't kill the messenger.

Is this the same "source" you were using?

Yeah, pretty much. This was reported in Boston first and then KC I think. Still, no supporting evidence that I can see. Nothing on ESPN or the like so I kinda figured it was BS, for now.

I have no source myself... It was just relayed to me on a couple different MB's that it's being said in KC and Boston on sports radio.... If it's not true, I have no way of knowing.

I posted it earlier in the day as unconfirmed but asked Winicki to shut it down.

No big deal.

I think enough different people heard it to say it WAS ont he radio... how solid the stations are seem to be the issue. Agreements can be reneged on too (Winfield) so who knows.

"For now" being the key phrase ... I won't be surprised to see him in KC. I just don't think he'll get the money he's looking for. No team in their right mind is going to pay him the kind of money he wants.

I dont see them paying him 6 mil a season. Like I said earlier I had heard the reports of KC were totally untrue per NFL Radio but we shall see if they are right or its a rumor picking up steam

From espn insider this morning...........

Abraham opens door for Law
Jul 15 - The Jets responded to cornerback Donnie Abraham's retirement by intensifying their interest in Law, the New York Daily News reports. While the Jets also completed a trade for a disgruntled Cowboys CB Peter Hunter as insurance, Law remains a strong target.
The Jets are believed to be one of eight teams showing interest in Law, although his asking price -- reportedly about $6 million per year -- could be prohibitive. The Jets and Jaguars could be the front-runners.

While the Buccaneers reportedly have faxed Law a contract proposal, USA Today suggests the team's dire salary-cap situation makes its interest merely wishful thinking. The Pittsburgh Steelers, on the other hand, could be a more likely landing place, according to the paper.

Other teams that reportedly remain interested in the veteran CB include the Dolphins, Chiefs, Lions and Colts.

Law is coming off a broken foot that kept him out of the final 12 games of 2004, including the Patriots' Super Bowl victory.
