Maybe down the road but not at this time. Both Radway and Holmes have to show they belong in this league and on the team. Beating out Miles is not something I see taking place right now

I told people Miles Austin would be this teams #1 receiver before 2009 and got laughed out of a thread.

Holmes has the potential to be a stud, if he can be our #3 then he's doing good because he's not gonna push two pro bowl caliber players for their job his first year getting a shot.

The Cowboys aren't looking to replace Austin they're looking for a 3rd receiver. Radway and Holmes have yet to prove they can produce when it counts as the 3rd receiver.

I don't think it will be this year unless Austin has another bad season. If he has a repeat of last year, he could be on his way out.

If Austin misses games this season due to injury like he did last season and some of the inconsistencies in his play continue the Cowboys will probably look to replace him in 2013. It certainly won't be easy to replace him he's still a very affective receiver.

Why would you hope a young player on this team doesn't have a ceiling of being a starter?

Why do you say that? I mean at this point, all our young receivers have the same chance to make the team. And Holmes has pretty good upside. It would really surprise me if he didn't make the team; even if its not as the third receiver.

Because they have to make the team. I'd say Holmes with his size and what I have heard from talking Cowboys has the best shot. I doubt Radway makes it over Coales and he is coming off a serious injury. I could see them keeping six wr but that doesn't exclude them bringing someone else in. I'd think Holmes may have a decent shot and for whatever reason Olgetree keeps sticking around.

I heard that too. Last week though he said he looked a little better. Who knows, I just have a hard time seeing Radway sticking. If he takes Olgetrees spot I'm all for it. I think the Cowboys sign someone like Robinson again this year. Not comfortable having anyone as number two wr if Austin or Bryant are out for some time. They have been talking Holmes up like crazy though.
