That Moore has been hearing from his agent and other sources that he won't slip past the Cowboys makes some sense. The underclassman free safety is widely considered the most talented player in this year's crop at his position, and the team has a fairly obvious need in that spot after a disappointing year of pass defense.

Not sure how i feel about that.

He's the top rated safety, in a weak class. At #40, I think there could be better value.

I'd rather have Aaron Willilams or Brandon Harris if availble.

Give me Marcus Cannon or Ijalana too.

I like him as a player but there is no way on earth this guy is the pick at 9. he is a bottom of round one at best but probably a 2nd round pick

I could definitely live with a draft of Tyron Smith and Rahiem Moore.

I want nothing to do w Moore until the 3rd rd. Or late 2nd if we move up from the 3rd

I have no problems with taking Rahim Moore in the 2nd round at some point. All folks have been hearing is how much this year's safety crop is weak, so they assume everyone just sucks.

If Moore came out last year, he would be somewhere in my second tier of safeties:

1st tier - Eric Berry, Earl Thomas

2nd tier - Nate Allen, Rahim Moore, Morgan Burnett

3rd tier - Chad Jones, Taylor Mays, Reshad Jones...et cetera

Great post, about as spot on as it gets

Okay, confessing a little secret. I am hoping that if we take Smith in round 1, that we do take Rahim Moore at #40. It is the Pac 10 homer in me, but this kid can play. He is a ball hawk. We need that. He's vocal. I don't mind that.

I'm find with him...in round three.

I hate reaching, but we can't have Ball start another year. I think he's third round value, but if he were at #40, I could take it paired next to Huff.

If he had come out last yr, he'd almost assuredly been a late 1st or early 2nd rd pick because he was coming off such an outstanding season.

DMN also says he was one of the players in for a visit today.

I think there will be better players than Moore at 40. Dallas for sure needs a safety help, but these two guys intrigue me more. Count me in the 3rd round crowd for Moore.

Stefen Wisniewski
Brandon Harris

If you go DB, I think Harris is a better value at CB. However, Wisniewski is a solid, safe pick and safer than Harris, imo. Both players offer very good value at 40, imo. I like both guys, but Wisniewski plays in a safer position for his skill level (interior offensive line).

The Commanders, Eagles, and Giants need centers (like they need OTs). If you take Wisniewski, that leaves them just about bare in round 2. The Eagles and Giants could be in trouble in that area. I like that aspect of taking the superior offensive tackle in this class at 9, too. The NFC East needs OTs, and the Lions or Vikings could take one after Dallas. Their options are not nearly as good if Dallas takes the cream of the crop at 9.

I'd be happier with Harris or Ski at 40 than with Moore. They should sign Huff if and when that's possible. I'd stay away from safety in the first three rounds of this draft.

I think we'll stand pat at #9 if that's the case, and take Tyron Smith.

Makes more sense to the overall success of the team, in my opinion.

I think we get Moore if there is no CBA by the draft.

Yeah, I like both those guys at 40. I like Aaron Williams, but they keep saying that he is going to have to transition to safety. He's kind of stiff at his weight, and his long speed is still in question. Dallas needs a safety now, but I wouldn't pass over better players based on need. I could see a zone team still putting Williams at CB. I don't think Williams makes it to 40.

However, Brandon Harris could for sure get to 40, based on his kind of tweener measurables at CB. Harris is 5-9, can't jump very high, and doesn't run in the 4.3s. That hurts him, but he is a good football player. Those are the types of quality CBs that fall to round 2. Those measurables at CB do make him more risky of a pick than Wisniewski, imo.

Again, both caliber of players have good value at 40, but Wisniewski plays in a safer spot on the field, in the offensive line. Both players deserve to be considered at 40, imo. It's a deep CB draft, and that could be a factor, too.

I don't think Wisniewski is coming to Dallas. They did have a scout at his pro day. I don't think Harris is coming, either. That is interesting. You would think both guys would draw interest.

Some good takes.

In my mind, if you trade back in the 1st and somehow pick up an additional 2nd rounder, selecting a guy like Rahim Moore is a lot easier. I think you're right though, there will likely be a lot of other good talent still left on the board at #40.

I'm not sure he gets passed the Browns at #37.

I could see the Browns taking Fairley in the first and Moore in the second.

People keep saying they want a WR and they do, but there are a boat load of FA WRs this year. Vincent Jackson, Sidney Rice, Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards, Steve Smith (Giants), Owens, Moss, and Steve Breaston. Not to mention they can pick up someone like Sam Hurd to supplement a bigger name.

I'm betting they go all out on defense then try and grab a WR(s) in FA. There are enough of them out there.
