I thought they would want to pair him up with Antonio Brown.
He had 63 catches in 2018.I don't think he's got much left, but if he's willing to play for the vet minimum with few guarantees, I guess the Cowboys could kick the tires here.
Are we going to count on Austin staying healthy and effective? Are we going to lose games if Wilson or Brown prove to be ineffective #3's. Nelson isnt near his prime, but is still a very effective player.progress stopper. not interested in an aging veteran that's a step slower
And Derek Carr was his QB.He had 63 catches in 2018.
He had the most catches in weeks 11, 14 and 15.

"Progress stopper" is someone you avoid if you are a losing team trying to develope as much young talent as you can. You dont worry about progress stoppers if you are a winning team trying to take the next step
Cooper, Gallop, Austin, Brown,Wilson(promising draft pick),Hurns(our aging vet)....there's your six ...Where is a 34 aging Nelson fitting....enough with the aging veteran receivers.....
ThisCaught 63 balls last year. Still a good route runner. Id be willing to being him in as a #3. Big slot and can still play outside.
Your not getting vintage Nelson, but I think he has some left in the tank
Exactly, bigtime experience with a roster full of young/little experienced receiversCooper...given
Gallup...given
Austin...6-7 games if we're lucky?
Brown...blech
Wilson...that's the wildcard for me.
Hurns...solid vet, but will he return OK?
I agree overall on the aging vet's though. I feel Nelson would still cause Defenses issues.
Easy, cut Hurns. He was terrible, and when is ge even going to be ready? Let Brown and Wilson fight for snaps. Neither one of them have proven they can contribute anything outside of a small niche. Austin miss a chunk of time last year, and frankly isnt much of a receiver. Im not at all optimistic about going into the season with what we have behind Cooper and Gallup. We need bankable talent. We arent a 5 win team that needs to avoid progess stoppers in order to develop talent. If you are coming off a playoff year, the term "progress stopper" shouldnt even be in our vocabulary
