As tough as the situation is, having him out during a key stretch, there are some silver linings. One was defense having to win us a game AND THEY DID!
2nd, is Romo was pressing a bit, and there were a bunch of turnovers from him fumbling in particular as well as some poor red zone interceptions. This is an opportunity for Romo to go back to clipboard, see the whole field without taking a pounding, see the pictures during the game and improve his mental aspects of game. IF he is doing the mental reps and focussing I think this could be a significant help to him. He got thrown in fire for 32 straight games with high expectations, it gives him a chance to reflect and recharge. He did look a little depressed and frustrated last few games he played. Hopefully this will recharge him and give him some insights into strengths/weaknesses etc.
He strikes me as type that will come back stronger. He's a competitor, he rebounds well, and loves (usually!) the game. If he studies hard through this stretch he might come back stronger (ala Steve Austin, they can rebuild him!).
It is an opportunity for Romo. It also eliminates all the crap that was piling up on him prior to the injury (hits, fumbles, interceptions, girlfriend distractions, etc etc). Bit of a fresh start. Hopefully Romo can throw during bye week and get the rust off physically.
I agree with the post. It will be interesting to see.
We really see how much the offense misses with him out of there though, don't we. Get used to 300 yard passing games pretty quick. We also see what can happen if you play mistake free football DESPITE getting fewest offensive yards ever in a win, hehe. Mistakes kill. Parcells, as much as he quit on this team, he was right. It comes down to 3-5 plays a game usually, and if you make more mistakes you lose more often than you win.
