We all miss Romo. But we have to admit he was pressing before he got hurt. He must miniumize the turn-overs. Do you get the feeling Romo is taking this all in and game like Yesterday will go along way towards his development. Maybe he will realize that he doesn't aways have to do it himself. At times he can just let the defense win the game. It's a thin line to tow. When do you play conservative and when do you go for it. Romo is a high character guy and I think he'll return a better QB. Your thoughts.

I think Romo is a top rated QB who when he returns will have another toy to play with in Roy Williams working opposite of Owens. I always want Romo to be careful with the ball but I don't want Romo to stop doing the things that got him to this point. Romo for good or bad is a bit of a gun slinger and that has helped him get to where he is.

I would say its safe to say Romo will come back a better QB.It appeared he was involved/interested in what was going on during the game yesterday.I have tons of faith in Romo getting better.

Romo needs to channel his inner Jedi again. Let Brady be Brady and Romo be Romo!

You know what Romo needs?

The Oline to pass protect

The defense to hold up their end of the bargain.

Yesterday was a great step!

that is very true too!

As tough as the situation is, having him out during a key stretch, there are some silver linings. One was defense having to win us a game AND THEY DID!

2nd, is Romo was pressing a bit, and there were a bunch of turnovers from him fumbling in particular as well as some poor red zone interceptions. This is an opportunity for Romo to go back to clipboard, see the whole field without taking a pounding, see the pictures during the game and improve his mental aspects of game. IF he is doing the mental reps and focussing I think this could be a significant help to him. He got thrown in fire for 32 straight games with high expectations, it gives him a chance to reflect and recharge. He did look a little depressed and frustrated last few games he played. Hopefully this will recharge him and give him some insights into strengths/weaknesses etc.

He strikes me as type that will come back stronger. He's a competitor, he rebounds well, and loves (usually!) the game. If he studies hard through this stretch he might come back stronger (ala Steve Austin, they can rebuild him!).

It is an opportunity for Romo. It also eliminates all the crap that was piling up on him prior to the injury (hits, fumbles, interceptions, girlfriend distractions, etc etc). Bit of a fresh start. Hopefully Romo can throw during bye week and get the rust off physically.

I agree with the post. It will be interesting to see.

We really see how much the offense misses with him out of there though, don't we. Get used to 300 yard passing games pretty quick. We also see what can happen if you play mistake free football DESPITE getting fewest offensive yards ever in a win, hehe. Mistakes kill. Parcells, as much as he quit on this team, he was right. It comes down to 3-5 plays a game usually, and if you make more mistakes you lose more often than you win.

I think it comes with Romo's territory.

He's the type of QB whose gonna be a franchise guy and keep the team competing for a long time to come. But that ability is going to come at the cost of those 3, 4, 5 turnover games sprinkled in with the big wins and close losses.

It's hard to get a 100+ QB rating when you're not "pressing".

You would think after the last two weeks of Brad Johnson this "Romo wasn't playing well' idiocy would have stopped. Sadly, no.

You would think!;)

Romo had us averaging 30 pts a game. I will take his pressing play if we keep averaging 30 pts a game. It is much better than the 13 pts a game we have been averaging the last 2 games.

His INT rate is lower this year than it's ever been.

It might make Romo be a tad more cautious... but Romo is what he is: A playmaking QB who is going to have some mistakes because of his risk taking ways.

That's ok too. He's one heck of a QB and the team is going to take off once he's back. They've been running with ankle weights on the last two weeks. Brad Johnson is the limiting factor on a talented offense. Once Romo is back in the lineup, the team will then be running without those restraints (ankle weights).

Also, don't forget that when we get Romo back... we will likely be getting Felix Jones back. That should help things as well. Both are explosive players and that's what the O is missing right now.

The one thing that I wish Romo would change in his game is; when he has a running lane wide open... go ahead and take it. Sometimes that too can be a really big play for the offense. Not only does it keep the chains moving but it can really frustrate a defense. The defense did everything they needed to do... they covered everyone and broke down the pocket, and yet Romo runs for a new set of downs.

That is the one thing that I wish Romo would start doing more of. I've seen where he had the first down with ease and he pulled up and threw downfield for an incompletion and Dallas had to punt. Just get the first down and then try for the big play when you can huddle up and try again if it doesn't work.

It's a small complaint, but really it's all I have that's negative on Romo, IMO.

I never implied he wasnt playing Well. But the turn-overs were getting a little too much. In a close game I.e against the Deadskins, they prevent us from winning. See Larrycanadaian post well said and said better than me.

If it weren't for Romo's playmaking ability the game would never be close. We would be blown out.

And if Romo was playing if safe, the outcry would be "What happened to Tony Romo we used to know? He's not making the plays he used to make. Is he scared to pull the trigger now?"

When you throw the Ball 47 times in the Commanders game, you are bound to have one ball picked off. Our run game was piss poor and the Moss was having a field day with our defense.
