OK, so we made more cap room by restructuring Ty Crawford's contract and there's talk of interest in Eric Weddle.

So we sign Weddle and either combination of Greg Hardy (think we're bluffing on him and can do a 2 yr/ $12 million, $6 million guaranteed deal) and/or Chris Long to play DE.

Our first 4 draft slots go as follows:

Rd 1: 4th overall, 1800 points
Rd 2: 34th overall, 560 points
Rd 3: 67th overall, 255 points
Rd 4: 97th overall, 112 points

With those 4 picks I would like to do this:

Round 1: (Trade Down to 9th overall) Vernon Hargreaves CB, Florida - We trade our 1st (4th overall, 1800 points) for Tampa Bay's 1st (9th overall, 1350 points) and their 2nd (39th overall, 510 points). TB wants Joey Bosa as they have no viable DE and he's rated the top prospect at the position in this draft. We want the blue chip CB that we don't want to have to pay for in this ridiculous FA market. Byron Jones, Eric Weddle are now our safeties and Hargreaves, Oscan start at CB. The newly re-signed Mo Claiborne is our 3rd CB, while Brandon Carr gets the post June cut. Secondary regrouped adequately and affordably.

Round 1: (Trade Up to 15th overall) Ezekiel Elliott RB, Ohio - We trade our 2nd (34th overall, 560 points) and the 2nd we got in the trade with TB (39th overall, 510 points) for the Rams 1st (15th overall, 1050 points). The Rams will now have three 2nd round picks in the top half of the round and can find 3 good players to round out the rest of their team. RG3 is their QB and they look for WR's, TE's and o-line to compliment Todd Gurley and him. Furthermore, Jeff Fischer has a history with dual threat QB's like Steve McNair and Vince Young. Dallas now has their superstar bellcow for the next 10 years, the running game the organization clamours to help Tony Romo behind the best o-line in the league and the ability to keep the ball more than the opposition to aid the defense. Our identity as a team is now re-integrated. We have a history trading with the Rams and they have a history trading period during the draft annually as we do.

Round 2: (Trade Up to 60th overall) Noah Spence DE, Eastern Kentucky - We trade our 3rd (67th overall, 255 points) and 4th (97th overall, 112 points) for New England's 2nd (60th overall, 300 points). New England wants to gather extra picks looking to find talent for the LB corps in the middle rounds. Dallas doesn't let the Randy Gregory situation bother them and looks past Spence's past transgressions literally having 3 supremely talented pass rushers in Hardy, Gregory and Spence who possess the meathead syndrome. If Hardy is not signed and/or Chris Long is, Long plays LDE the first 2 downs, while Lawrence moves to RDE. On obvious passing downs, Lawrence goes back to LDE and the combination of Spence and Gregory (after suspension) plays at RDE. If Hardy is here he is the obvious RDE with Spence and Gregory sprinkled in. If Hardy becomes the headcase he was last season, he is then cut the next with only a $3 million cap hit while Gregory and Spence hash it out for his old position, sprinkled in with Long of course. New England has a history of trading middle round picks.

We have 9 picks overall and can use the bottom ones to bolster our special teams and depth. Maybe we can also get the QB Dak Prescott with our top compensatory pick since we seem interested in him. That can be our developmental QB for the future. If we combine that FA offseason with this draft where we look for marquee quality at the top of the draft and use the later rounds as stated above, I feel we will have a dynamite team for the present and the future.

PLEASE CHIME IN!!!!

Could work but it will not happen. Hargreaves is a smaller corner and the Cowboys are not about that--at least not with premium picks they aren't. If they did that, it would probably look more like:

Round 1: Elliot
Round 1: Eli Apple or William Jackson (both over 6 foot)
Round 2: Spence ( I doubt this happens)

Convoluted, but I would take that combination all day, every day!

It's definitely a lot of wheeling and dealing and it sounds like Weddle is playing hard ball with us but it would be nice.

I know where you're coming from with the larger corners but remember Hargreaves will just be turning 21 in June so he has his last growth spurt coming up lol!

I liked Apples combine and he showed some really good hands, WR level. He's not as smooth in his hips as Hargreaves, nor does he stick to WR's as well though but I like how he plays on the ball.

I love this draft, I just don't see Elliott getting past Philly now that they sit at 8. If we want him we have to trade with San Fran and grab him there. Unfortunately that's the only way I think we get him. If we cant get him, personally if we cant, im all for Alex Collins in the 3rd. P.S what are you doing for the draft?

You got a very good point regarding Philly.

Alex Collins is a nice option.
