First, I figured there would be a few threads bashing Roy and Julius. I was right.
I don't know what Roy did yesterday to deserve it, but hate will carry some a long way. I know he is blamed for the Portis TD even though it was Hamlin who totally took the wrong hole forcing Roy to have to change direction. By then it was too late on a good back like Portis. Other than that I don't know what he did that was so bad. Reeves was the biggest culprit of the day.
Julius had a better game than Barber, but somehow all the running woes are his fault. Seems like it would be the O-lines fault in my opinion.
It was pretty clear the team came out flat. I thought the defense picked it up, but it was difficult because the offense kept putting them in poor position. Too many 3 and outs.
Did anyone notice how the clock did not move near the end of the first half? On the pass completion to Reche Caldwell on the sidelines only 2 seconds went off the clock. There should have been 5 or 6 more seconds tick off during that play. Same with the incompletion to the back a few plays later. I don't think it prevents Washington from getting a FG then, but it gave them at least one if not two more shots at a TD that they should not have gotten.
The receivers need to work on coming back for the ball. If Witten comes back for the ball it is a TD and he was not alone in that department.
Terry Glenn appeared to be in mid-season form. He looked very good on the play where he drew the penalty. That was classic Glenn. So was the Springs interception. That was a typical Glenn in route. Don't use your body to shield the defender. Jump in the air for no reason. The good and the bad, but he looked fine until Landy slid into his legs. By the way, that looked unintentional to me.
