Man, this Giant game seems extremely important to our chances of going to the playoffs besides the fact that winning gives us a good start to December.

If we beat the Giants, that drops them to 6-6 and puts us at 9-3 which should effectively seal their fate.

It appears that 10-6 is what it will take to get a wildcard spot, if so we need to go 2-3, the other teams scenarios are:

Giants 6-6 (assuming we beat them) must go 4-0 to close the season and then I'm not sure who would win the tie breaker if they ended up tied with us at 10-6 (Schedule after Dallas is Philly, @Wash, Carolina, @ Vikings)

Atlanta 6-5 would have to go 4-1 but then I think Dallas would have the tie breaker because of the head to head win (Schedule: Philly, NO, @Jets, Buffalo, @ TB)

Green Bay 7-4 will have to go 3-2 (Ravens, @Chicago, @Steelers, Seattle, @ Arizona)

Eagles 7-4 (@ Atlanta, @Giants, SF, Denver, @ Dallas)

Looks like it's going to come down to the bitter end and If our O doesn't start clicking consistently then I think we'll be fighting for a wildcard and beating the Giants could be the make or break for that last slot.

If O our starts scoring points and maintaining drives, then we could win every game. At this point it looks like it's all going to depend on the O (assuming our D keeps playing well and we don't have any major injuries).

I'd love to see us have the division wrapped up and nothing to play for against Philly, but Philly needs to beat us for the last wildcard spot. Rather than rest our players, several of our key players go to the coaches and demand to play the Eagles like its a playoff game and go out there and whip their butts and keep them from making the playoffs.

Now that I've read what I wrote, I am kind of amazed how up in the air everything is with only 5 games left, so don't flame me to hard for this post, I'm just trying to have a little fun speculating (but I stilly believe winning this Giant game is extremely important).

If we beat the G-men and Atlanta beats the Eagles, then we have a 2 game lead in the division with 4 to play.

Up 2 with 4 to play means the division race is basically over. We would have to totally melt down and go like 1-3 to lose the division. That just aint happening.

Please don't remind me of 2006.

Dang, Packers have a tough schedule also...@ Arizona....@ Pittsburgh....vs. Ravens.

Yet the mediots conveniently ignore that fact, and call Aaron Rodgers the second coming of Brett Favre, and have labeled the Cowboys as mere December goats with a tough December again.

Beat NY. Beat Philly. That's the division, no matter what happens the rest of the way.*

*Yeah, I know - If Philly wins all but the Dallas game, and the Boys lose the other three games, Philly wins the division. I just don't see it, not after what Washington did against them. 24 points from that offense? No way they finish 5 and 1.

WE should go 3-2 down the stretch at minimum 4-1 or 5-0 would be gravy

@Giants
San Diego
@New Orleans
@Washington
Philly

@Giants is a big must win being a Division game

I see us splitting between New Orleans and San Diego but if this team has Super Bowl expectations we need too win at least 1 of those the San Diego ones seems to be the logical one since it is at home

@Washington is another big one since it is a Division game

So depending on everyone else schedule and results Philly may or may not be a game to worry about

Here's what we don't have compared to 2006. Our starting safeties aren't Keith Davis and Roy Williams. Our dime corners don't feature Aaron Glenn, Jacques Reeves, and Anthony Henry.

That right there should make you smile. Oh, and we don't have Parcells telling linebackers to hold their zone if they have no offensive player near them and a free path to the quarterback.

When it's time for the mediots to talk anything regarding the Cowboys, they always just point to December and shrug us off. It gets old, especially when you want to hear something news worthy about the team, and all they can talk about is December.

As old as hearing all of that gets, I hope the media keeps pointing to December and completely dismissing us. I enjoy flying under the radar.

It's a new season boys and girls!

Only way that talk ends is to finally win some games in December. If we lose to the G-men, that type of talk is all we are going to hear about 24/7 until the following week against the Chargers. If we lose that game too and start December 0-2, it is going to be brutal................we just have to win, period.

^^^This. And, honestly, who can blame the media for harping on the December collapse. It's been going on since 1997! If that were the Commanders, or Eagles, or Giants a slew of the members here would have in bold letters in their sig line! It would be the token trash talk one liner to every troll from those teams that visited. Yet, if it's said about the Cowboys it's "unfair", or "people should be fired". Please people, grow a set of balls.

We're ALL sick of hearing about December. 98 was a new season, too, along with 99, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, and 08. The only way to discredit the validity of the argument is to invalidate it by winning.

Two most likely scenarios as I see them.

A) We have 10-12 wins heading into week 17. Both the NFC East Division and the #3 seed clinched. Unfortunately we will have no shot at a top 2 seed and nothing to play for.
B) We have 10-12 wins heading into week 17, but the eagles have finished strong and are right on our heels. We have a play-off spot locked up, but need to beat them for the division.

At this point I don't think the eagles will be eliminated proir to week 17. We may be in a position to knock them out and that's what I'm hoping for.
