Rams get #1 overall

What scouts currently employed by an NFL team made this projection?

Mock drafters? You mean the guys who make projections without ever interviewing prospects and aren't held accountable for any of their assessments? Please don't tell me you take their draft projection for a player seriously?

Everyone knows that fans, reporters, agents and players scour the countless mock drafts that can be found all over the Internet.

But do management personnel of NFL teams themselves take a peek as well? Baltimore Ravens assistant general manager Eric DeCosta was asked how much time he spends looking at the work of media draft experts.

"More time than he’ll admit," coach John Harbaugh chimed in with a smile.

Those are the mock drafters and scouts i'm referring to.

For the Rams it's Goff all the way. Wentz may slide past the Browns and Dallas as well.

For starters, yea, Goff is the one who is more pro ready, you don't make that deal for someone who needs to sit (although both QBs imo need to sit).

However, the Browns haven't shown much interest in Ramsey or Bosa. They *could* grab Tunsil, but if Wentz is there at #3, I see SD trading the pick.

I swear, some of ya'll just like to argue.

We have Frederick for two more years at an affordable price, including his 5th year option since he was a first round pick. This isn't about a decision we'd have to make today, it's about a decision we MIGHT have to make 2 years from now.

That decision has to be considered by any management team. You have a pro bowl center and your
doing something that impacts that player two short yers down th road. Never happen. If it does
thats when you have reason to question their guardianship.

I totally agree with your viewpoint.

But we know that Free is in decline, Leary has a degenerative knee condition, and Green is coming off surgery.
If the inside info on these 3 is worse that we know, Tunsil might still be a blue chip pick for the 'Boys.

Then Leary could be packaged in a draft day trade, or dealt later.

so we must replace someone with a bad knee cause they have no value.

except unless we can trade them....

Crazy.

Interesting that the Rams have been involved in two huge draft trades for a Quarterback recently.
One to trade back and collect picks, now it's to give away picks to move up

I just hope that Goff doesn't slide to the Browns. I like the kid and would hate to see him ruined in short order. That fan base turns on everyone. I don't even think Rodgers could start there as a rookie and withstand the level of craptitude and subsequent criticism he would get for every loss that wasn't his fault.

WOW that changes things dramatically

To me it has more to do with diminishing returns and the assets already committed to not only the o-line but the RT position. Between Free and Green, there's literally no reason to take Tunsil, who will be highly sought after among the teams picking after us. Trade the pick, pick up an extra 2nd or extra 3rd, maybe get the guy who we were gonna take at #4 anyway, but do not take Tunsil.

If we can trade the pick, great, but I think it'd be terrible to "give" the pick away.

I also don't know that a 32 year old Free or a guy that hasn't played an NFL down yet is enough of a reason to not take Tunsil. I agree it seems like a luxury selection, though.

Rams lean Jared Goff today, but one reason they made trade now was to get two weeks to debate top 2 QBs because "both are going to be good."

I refuse to recap the entire conversation for you, but the conversation wasn't about someone threatening Frederick's position.

yes it is/was you cant put that much money at one line position
it much diffidently is

ESPN's Clayton says ...big winners here are San Diego and Dallas.
Now have their pick of highest rated players in the draft at no extra cost.

But others say don't completely rule out Cleveland trading down too if they get a massive offer.
