Rams get #1 overall

Well Jerry could have traded up too. And because you start higher it wouldn't have cost as much

Maybe wouldn't have cost as much, but the #15, two seconds a third as well as a #1 and #3 next year is a huge haul. Maybe it doesn't cost us our third in 2016 & 2017, but I was never really in favor of trading up. Take Goff or Wentz is there, *maybe* swap with SD for Goff or Wentz at #3, if they really want Ramsey, and don't want to risk moving too far down and losing him, but that's about all I was willing to do. Rarely is it a good idea to deal a future #1.

Collins will likely move outside if Green can't work out. It's easier to find an OG anyway.

Drafting another OL would be a waste of resources IMO.

I don't see moving an All Pro guard outside, you get a very good player if you have an opportunity to grab one IMO.

Wentz/Goff....LA moves to number 1, do we see SF make a move to number 2 now? Does Cleveland want another QB? Maybe we go with Prescott now in the 4th round? As other posters have said, I would love to then trade down to 15 and grab 2-2nd rounders from the Titans.

It's a beautiful day for the draftniks out there sir!

A chance to take a very talented team and actually win football games
Their roster is pretty good but you can't win without a qb

They could've drafted one next year lol. You just traded all of this for a quarterback who was projected to be a 2nd round pick just two months ago. It's moronic. The Rams aren't a qb away from contending and they surely aren't a Wentz away from winning:

Tennessee can trade us #15 and the two 2nd rounders to get back to 4 and take Tunsil.

Then they will still have #33, #63 and #76 and still two picks in 2017.

And then we draft Lynch at #15 and we'll have 3 second rounders. Sign me up!

Like the RT that we drafted last year in the 3rd round that didn't play a snap last year? This is more than likely Free's last year so taking a dominant RT is not insane, the draft is about acquiring good young talent.

He was hurt. We knew that. I'd rather see what Green has than waste a top pick on a tackle.

from my vantage point, it does seem while we lost out on the top 2 qb's being tossed around here, it does open up a wide range of possibilities.

seeing as only 1 more top player can "go" before us regardless of trade activity - our options are:
tunsil - can't cry here but we're going to have problems with so much $ invested in 1 position. you build a line for continuity and replacing people due to $ every year doesn't help that at all. if here and an option i look to trade down 3-4 spots.
ramsay - YOU DONKEY!!!! sorry, i can't come anywhere close to that name w/o doing the chef routine. potential and very possible.

but to me, i'd love to see us trade down again 3-4 spots and pick up an extra 2nd rounder and draft jack at 7 or 8. use the 2nds to move up if we need to and take lynch.

that gives us lynch and jack for our 1st 2 rounds.

I would be extremely disappointed if they were inclined to take Tunsil. Nothing wrong with the player, but how they can consider having to pay five OL top shelf money in the future is the problem.

I would use Tunsil as the trade down bait in the event Cleveland or San Diego does not take him.

I wouldn't have a problem selecting him. Build the best line the league has ever seen and keep it together as long as you can. If you missed out on the top two quarterbacks, you obviously wouldn't be drafting one until later, at a much lower cost. And if you can get cheap quarterback play (provided the guy isn't a bum) for a few years, that's a huge cap savings that would allow you to keep the line group together for a few more years.

It's probably not over. Eagles wanted that pick. They may be talking to Cleveland or SanDiego. I hope they're as dumb as Fisher.

Doesn't matter about next year.

They looked at Wentz (i believe it's going to be Wentz) and said you know; 40 on the Wonderlic, big arm, athletic as heck they believe, as do i, that Wentz has every chance to be a star NFL player.

No number 1 next year is a small price to pay.

So basically they went moronic and judged a player based on measurables. He didn't play against any top talent but his measurables outweighs that. I should say I'm shocked but it's why we have so many busts in the top 10.

But they traded like this is the last year you can draft a qb. They don't have a first rounder next year because of this.

But they believe that they now have the most valuable position in sports. Quarterback.

Since the year 2000
Super Bowl winning QBs (drafted outside of the top 5 picks
2015--Brady (6th round)
2014--Wilson (2nd round)
2013--Flacco (18th pick)
2011--Rodgers (24th pick)
2010--Brees (2nd round, early)
2009--Roethlisberger (11th pick)
2006_Roethlisberger (11th pick)
2005--Brady (6th rd)
2004--Brady (6th rd)
2003--B Johnson (9th rd)
2002--Brady (6th rd)
2001--Dilfer (6th pick)
2000-Warner (undrafted)

9 different QBs that were not taken in the top 5 in that short stretch won SBs
2 (both Mannings) were not

While what you're saying is true, statistically speaking, it's still in a teams favor to take a top QB early. It's in essence it's the same argument as taking the favorite vs one underdog. Yes, I can't point to how often "the field (everyone but the favorite)" wins vs the favorite, but I can't draft "the field," you can only hedge your bet to one QB and odds are the guy you draft in round 4 will not be Russell Wilson, he'll be Matt Barkley or something like that.

Have no clue if it is true...just rumors in the twitterverse is that if Jack is healthy, he does not make it past Jacksonville.

Who is the new QB going to throw to? Robert Quinn or Aaron Donald is my question? This is exactly what they did when they took Bradford and then never got any playmakers for him.

Stop with the California connection thing. Northern and Southern CA might as well be different states. The LA fans don't root for northern CA teams. They couldn't care less about a guy from Cal. A USC or UCLA player would be a CA connection.

LA Rams need to get fans interested in their first year. A guy like Goff who already has a fan base in California would help with that. It is a factor. Wentz is from North Dakota. You have to consider how these guys will adjust to new surroundings.

ugh. starting to see that now that we're close enough for me to start looking around. if we want him don't get cute then and take him.
