Rams get #1 overall

2017 and 2018 QB classes aren't looking too hot. That's my one worry for ignoring the position this year.

Not sure about the future classes...have heard they look pretty good.

But yes, this year's class is deep. Many think there's a high probability that 1-2 QB taken after the 1st round this year may end up starters long term.
A couple years ago we had Luck, RG3, and Tannihill all go in the top 10...then 2 rounds later, Seattle finds Russell Wilson

Nope. Patrick Mahomes is more talented then any of these prospects right now, and he's only going into his junior season. Deshaun Watson will also be only be a junior and is a stud.

True but I'm thinking we're not going to get a high enough spot in the draft order to get those guys.

That's what the Rams thought as well so they decided to move up and take it. Cost a lot, but if they get the "guy" it won't matter.

The QB's in this class don't look so hot either....I don't see an Andrew Luck in this class by far. I see some Christian Ponder's though.

The best prospect for this draft may be a community college quarterback from North Dakota with one season's worth of pass attempts. I'll take my chances.

Except Jones is playing Ramsey's best position. Jones didn't have a similar type blocking his path at FS. The situations aren't really the same. Especially considering draft position, which plays a big part IMO. There will be much more pressure on Ramsey to make a big impact. It's also IMO harder to justify taking a safety that high as opposed to a CB.

I believe the future at safety for us is Ramsey - Jones.

So what are we to do? Do we try to move up to the 2nd pick? We do need the "guy" in a bad way.

Not sure if Watsons skill translates to the pros. I rather have the kid from UCLA Rosen. But he is only going to be a sophomore next year. He's the pure pocket passer

If you think you have "the guy" then you have to seriously consider moving up for him. If we "only" give up a 2nd rounder or god forbid our 1st from next year (which hopefully is in the 20s) and able to secure our franchise QB from next 10-15 years... That's cheap!

Sure this board will probably have a stroke but think about what the Rams and Skins have to give up to move from 15 to 1 and Skins from what 8 to 2!

All I know is he made everyone look silly in the college playoffs and almost won it by himself.

I still think Mahomes however is going to be the best.
