Rams' Jeff Fisher says trading away RG3 pick an 'easy' decision
December 3, 2014

Almost three years after pulling the trigger on a blockbuster trade that brought Robert Griffin III to Washington, St. Louis Coach Jeff Fisher said the decision “was an easy one” for the Rams.

“Take into consideration that I have three defensive starters that are playing at a real high level,” Fisher said on a conference call with Commanders beat writers on Wednesday.

The Commanders dealt the No. 6 overall pick and the No. 39 pick in 2012, plus their first round picks in 2013 and 2014, to the Rams for the No. 2 overall pick in 2012, which was used to select Griffin, who has been benched each of the past two seasons for ineffectiveness.

From the haul of picks St. Louis received from Washington, and other trades involving them, the 5-7 Rams have restocked their roster, acquiring four current starters—Michael Brockers, a defensive tackle, Alex Ogletree, a linebacker, Janoris Jenkins, a cornerback, and Greg Robinson, a left tackle.

Fisher should shut up. He will be lucky to get an 8-8 record and with that bounty doesn't have anything to show on the offensive side of the ball.

Wait .... Wait.. Wait....

Jeff Fisher is the best coach ever. He always did so much with little to no quality players.

Wait, Whut, he had a bounty of quality draft picks and he is getting to what? 8-8?

Well, it for sure true that is was a no-brainer trade and a gift from heaven if you asked many of us on draft day...and even more so now.
That was a truly horrible trade for Washington. Epically dumb.
I mean, the current very high 1st and 2nd rounders and then 2 more 1st rounders.... to barely move up in the draft. Unreal.

Still, as many good players as St Louis got, they can't crow too much because they certainly could have done even better.
Their issue has been QB too.

They then fleeced us giving our our 1st and 2nd to move up to get Mo Claiborne.

They grabbed Nrockers with out 1st rounder...so that was fine.
But then they got too cute in the 2nd round and traded down yet again and passed on Alshon Jeffery to get Isaiah Pead...lol.

Great post.

They are the Slurs of the NFC West.

Despite the Cards losing their starting QB, the Seahawks having next to no offensive weapons, a disgruntled RB, trading away their explosive playmaker for pennys on the Euro and the 9ers imploding with a coach having one foot out the door & a QB with the Jaws kiss of death, these fabled Rams still have not a sniff of the playoffs.

Garrett has pretty much owned him their last two meetings but still the legend lives on...

Guys. All he is saying is that he learned his lesson on drafting headcase running QBs when he drafted Vince Young. He should be commended for not making the same mistake twice.

Romo and Murray have owned them, not Garrett. There has been nothing particularly magical in coaching in how the Rams were beaten by the Cowboys from a coaching perspective.

Who's coaching those two players?

Garrett isn't... Pretty much the only thing remaining is his passing play-book, the worst dimension of this offense. As far as the running game and OL, I'd credit that to Callahan, the same guy Garrett was rifting with last year and the man who wanted to walk, but Jerry didn't let him.

Not really a fisher fan but he did get a haul and avoid the albatross that is rglll.
With a legit qb this team could make some noise

It's his third season and he had all those slur picks. That's his fault!

Garrett didn't draft Romo. He did bring in Brad Johson, if you consider him in charge of the offense then, Jon Kitna and now Weeden...

And Fisher played 4 games against the last 2 SB contenders each of his first two years.

They have Weeden because Orton is a nutter butter (did you see him dipping on the sidelines?) so you can't blame the Cowboys for a poor back up in the limited window they had, and I hate Weeden. And so what if he didn't draft Romo? He had him on the roster so didn't have to address that issue.

Look what I'm trying to say is good for Fisher if he wouldnt do the trade again, but currently his team has two more wins than the nuke the fridge hot mess of a dumpster fire that is Washington. People are saying he needs a Qb, well then why didn't he get one with the haul he stole? One pick in the 6th round with Bradford entering the last year of his deal? Suspect.

If he was coaching Dallas the would be a zone dedicated to running him out of town. Like, can you imagine the anger if they took Tavon Austin with the 8th pick? There's a time to talk and bringing up the rear of your division is not it.
