The St. Louis Rams have released linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa, the team's leading tackler in 2008.
"This was a difficult decision based on a lot of factors," Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said Friday in a news release. "I have a great deal of respect for Pisa and wish him all of the best."
Tinoisamoa, a six-year veteran drafted by the Rams in the second round of the 2002 NFL draft, recorded 135 tackles in 2008, 88 of which were solo.
Tinoisamoa spent much of the previous two seasons on the injured-reserve list.

He's a good LB, weakside as well.
Just saying.

I am aware of health concerns.

I personally don't think he's a good fit for our club, but I though I would post it for discussion's sake.

I hope that no one is expecting the Cowboys to sign him. Yea he is good but we already have a plethora of LB's. No need for us to sign him period!!!! :shoot2: :shoot2:

if they'd released him before Dallas signed Brookings, I think it may have happened, but I'm happy w/ Brookings.

That guy is quick and can cover. If we hadn't drafted 4 potential LBers, I'd be all over it.

Maybe he would fit as a Nickel LB, but to me he doesn't seem like a 3-4 kinda guy.

Isn't he like 5'9". I think he's way to small to play in a 3-4.

6'1 240
Plenty big enough. Injuries are a concern, but when he's on the field, he makes tackles.

the old Jerry would have sign hiom in a heart beat... oh wait, not many Pacific Islander guys interest Jerry?

Why not pursue him, for no other reason than to secure Burnetts nickle cover void?
So we drafted Williams with our first pick, what does that leave you with inside there?
Carp?
Hodge?
Broookings doesnt really fit that scheme as well as a speed guy like PT.
I would add that experinced skill set to this team in a heartbeat, and not take as big a chance with that position, and its not like it will kill the rooks chances of making the cut.
They can win out there with some room to spare.

He would be a much better 3 down weakside ILB than Brookings. But no way Cowboys sign him now. ILB has already been addressed this offseason.

I think he is too small to play LB in the 3-4 defense. I know Dat was able to do it, but it took a toll on him after a while. Plus, he already has health issues, IR for the last 3 seasons.....
