Rams trade for Chiefs CB Trent McDuffie

Great move by the Rams. They also have 3 picks in day 1-2. They can now go with their top pick.

Assume they did not like the likely corner options at 13.. or they are slotting in Simpson or Tate/Lemon/Tyson at 13 and did not think a quality CB would last to 29.

Either way, makes me second guess the corners in this draft.
Or maybe they have another priority for #13. Impossible to know from the outside looking in. And maybe they wanted a proven, 2x All-pro player (23-24') to plug in and just go. Even the best cornerbacks in this draft will probably have at least a modicum of a learning curve stepping up to the pro level.

Funny how successfully run franchises see issues and fix them immediately....
Looks like the Rams might be looking to do what they did the last time they won a SB. Push all of the chips in and just go for it. Worry about the future in the future. They know they need to strike while they still have Stafford. Jerry take notes

Rams got soaked lol. This is the player Dak & Ceedee abused. He looked rather ordinary. He is not worth that haul. Good on the Chiefs
To be a little fair to McDuffie...Lamb and Pickens are the best man-beating duo in football...when they are together on the football field. They will force teams to cover a certain way...but as we saw against the Eagles and the Chiefs it might not be enough regardless of what they do.

That said...he is a 2x All-pro (23 and 24') player who is plug and play.

Will they have to worry about the future?

People said that when they traded for Stafford and it’s never caught up to them like people acted like it would.

They just know what they’re doing.

And then win 7 games?

They did go through a mini slump after winning the SB in 2021. They went 5-12 in 2022. 10-7 in 2023 with a 1st round playoff lose, 10-7 in 2024 winning 1 playoff game, and finally rebounded almost fully in 2025 going 12-5 and losing a close one in the NFC Championship game. It could have been a longer rebound if Stafford had hung his cleats up. I don’t think most people saw Stafford hanging around this long and still playing at such a high level

Good move for both sides. KC got a nice haul with picks and now have 2 1st round picks and Rams addressed that subpar secondary with a ready made player. Still kept their early 1st and can go BPA if need be or beat Steelers/Jets from snatching up Ty Simpson.

clearly the Rams are expecting him to return to All Pro form which IF he does that is a decent if not great deal

He's a VERY good player. Nice pickup.

They ( Rams ) have multiple ones plus the three is next year . The five and six are going away prizes thanks for coming .

With multi ones now ( Chiefs ) I assume CB on rookie contract is on the Chiefs plate .
