Rams trade for Chiefs CB Trent McDuffie

Yet you were bragging about the man eaters ....... and they won 7 games ....... and before they play again Dak, Lamb, and Pickens combined cap hit for 2026 will probably be 93 million.
And here you go again in vacuous fashion...insinuating that the Cowboys are but a 2 man team and not 53. Your logic is dubious...not indomitable.

And you miss the forest for the trees expounding (without context) about cap hits, which can be ameliorated through various different accounting methods, including restructuring, extending and void contract years.

This is a win-now move for a win-now team. Nobody the Rams could draft at the end of the 1st was going to make a day 1 McDuffie-sized impact.

And Chiefs fans were like "of course it was McDuffie" when CeeDee scored a touchdown early in the game.

Not saying McDuffie is bad, and of course all corners get beat, but giving up four draft picks for this guy seems really, really steep.
Exactly lol. And maybe he’s not as bad as fans think I get that but he seems to be going downward before upward. Yeah I would’ve thought 2nd round pick based on what I saw last year. And he needs a new deal….yikes.

Rams are a funny team.

They make trades and they over trade but it doesn’t hurt them. Their deal for Stafford on paper the Lions won that trade.

They turned Stafford into Jared Goff, Jahmir Gibbs, La Porta, Jameson Williams and others…..

So I guess this could be a similar situation….they don’t care why they give up because they trust it’s gonna work.

Nope ...... never said that ....... they are just paid like a 3 man team.

But hey ....... we will see what they do this year ...... you seem sure its about to change.

I will bookmark this and we will find out who is right.

It’s being reported that it came down to the Rams and Giants but the Rams were the only one’s willing to give up a first plus more. The fans on the KC forum are very happy with the trade.

McDuffie was never likely to stay. If they sign Watson and considering what Williams showed as a rookie, they shouldn’t be desperate. They seem to do pretty well finding cornerbacks.

McDuffie is solid and versatile but I think he played the slot during his Pro Bowl year. If his price is $30M, I wouldn’t want to pay it.

I was thinking the same thing. This looks like a massive overpay by the Rams. At least right now it looks like the Chiefs pulled off highway robbery.
How can anyone watch how Jerry Jones runs the Dallas Cowboys and question any move the Los Angeles Rams make? Cowboys fans hope the deal doesn’t work out. Wishing it’s a bad deal won’t make it one.

The NFL is often called a copy cat league. Jerry should watch what the Rams do and copy them. Or any number of teams, for that matter.

The Rams are probably the best organization in the league right now. You can see why Stafford doesn't want to retire.

A late 1st and a discounted 3rd for a young all pro corner is a steal. I'd wager they'll use their remaining 1st to look at a QB.

Extremely good in the draft. Great roster. And almost inarguably the best coach in the league.

Their defense faded last year and the D collapse in the regular season game in Seattle cost them probably a trip to the Super Bowl. They went right after their biggest weakness.

OTOH, the KC dynasty looks over. Their best players other than Mahomes appear near the end. McDuffie is a player you put $ into, not trade away. I think they're looking at their roster as a rebuild around Mahomes. Too many holes to try to just reload.

A late 1st and a future 3rd for one of the league's best corners is an overpay....right.

More importantly as regards the Chiefs if they are in rebuild mode is Reid going to stay through it?

If they sign an edge, linebacker, corner, and a safety on the 1st day you will still claim that you are right.

Cowboys talk for months about how they might be aggressive.

Rams and Eagles are actually aggressive.

Eagles are going to be more the Chiefs, for now. Rams outclass Philly, although can’t seem to beat them in a game.
