they said they put together an aggressive package but the Raiders thought their picks would have been too high. Could you even imagine adding Mack to that bunch?

I find when teams in the NFL try and "buy" a trophy they end up with pretty catastrophic results like many big injuries that test depth that is no longer there

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It worked for Elway in Denver. Plus with Wade as the D.C. I wouldn't bet against him.

Was this before or after they gave Donald that huge contract. I find it hard to believe that would have been able to pay Mack, Donald, and Gurly while still being able to field a decent squad

I'm not sure about this "go for it" mentality every time a great player is available. I kinda like our next scrub up philosophy. Its cap friendly!

In Denver they add D-Ware to an already stout defense they built through the draft and some FA, they built it over time. LA Rams pretty much have spent "a lot" of FA money and some draft capital on the defensive side of the ball this year.

They Signed Suh, Re-Signed Donald, signed Shields, re-signed Webster, re-signed Easley, traded for Talib and then last year traded for Peters.

I can't blame them. They want to add as many impact player on D as they can. Put themselves in the best position to win the SB.

It can work. Especially if you can get enough on D to make them like a pro bowl team. But you have to have the up front pass rushers.

They have a lot of age in the secondary. But yes but you have ask where are they going thin where 1 injury derails the whole thing. OL, Receiver, RB, DL

Thin at DB won't matter as much if the QB is harassed all game. Really good Defenses have always dominated good offenses, and it starts up front. Had the Rams added Mack to their already good defense, opposing offenses better run every play from under center or that QB is going to get wrecked.

Starting Safety Lamarcus Joyner: 27
Starting Safety John Johnson: 22
Starting Corner Aqib Talib: 32
Starting Corner: Marcus Peters: 25
Backup Corner: Troy Hill: 27
Potential Slot Corner: Sam Shields: 30
Potential Slot Corner: Nikell Robey-Coleman: 26
Backup Safety: Blake Countess: 25
Backup Safety: Marqui Christian: 23

They have 1 guy over 30, and even then he's only 32. This looks like the most typical secondary in the NFL.

Peters and Talib are arguably the two best ball hawking corners in football now. Give McVay and company short fields and it's over.
