Was picking up a rental car from SeaTac last week for a vacation in the San Juan Islands. Highly recommend Friday Harbor, if you can make the journey. Absolutely beautiful, and the weather is much better than you would expect.
Anyway, at the car rental building at SeaTac this big dude comes walking past me and I immediately think I recognize, but wasn't 100% sure. Guy is a beast in size and jacked, he's in Washington (where Stanback played college ball), and he looks really familiar with the long dreds.
He's getting on the same escalator I am and after a few seconds I just call it out, and the conversation goes something like this:
He then reached out and shook my hand and told me to have a good one, or something to that effect. Was a super chill guy. I mean, he was never really a big contributor, but I would almost rather run into someone like him who's just going about his business and willing to be cool than run into a Pro Bowler who won't even give you the time to answer question #1.
