2011 Starters taking it to the next level:
Dez
Tyron Smith at LT.
Doug Free – I’m expected him to be the most improved player from 2011.
Murray and Sean Lee have already taken it to the next level, IMO.
Free Agents that exceed expectations:
Carr - In addition to solid play, he brings much needed leadership to the Secondary.
Livings – I think he will be better than expected.
Vickers - In interviews, sounds like another leader type.
2011 contributors that take a step up:
Nagy or Kowalski win the starting Center job.
Bruce Carter has a season like Sean Lee did in 2011.
Sensabaugh excells with the upgrades at CB.
Phillips gets back to his pre-injury form.
Parnell gets playing time as the blocking TE.
Josh Brent becomes the BIG NT allowing Ratliff to focus on passing downs.
Phillip Tanner continues to impress.
Rookies:
Claiborne - Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Matt Johnson – Hopefully, he challenges for a starting job.
Danny Coale - Hopefully, he challenges for the 3rd WR spot.
Crawford – Rotational player.
Wilber – Rotational player.
Hanna – Makes some big plays from the H-Back position.
Leary – Challenges for the starting RG position.
Levy Adcock – Outplays McQuistan.
Madison – Challenges for a roster spot.
Hamilton - Challenges for a roster spot.
Breakout contributors:
At least one of the young WRs from last year. Holmes, Radway, Harris.
Albright – Underrated, IMO. He has good size and athleticism. Played both OLB an ILB last preseason.
Long Shots:
Something clicks with one or more of the super athletes like AOA or Teddy Williams and they become contributors with high upside. I’m really interested to see what the 6-3, sub 4.3 forty TW does in training camp at CB.
