Just a random thought while watching NFL Live late on this Thursday evening.

Can you imagine if we had drafted Steven Jackson back in '04 instead of Julius Jones?

Tandem of Steven Jackson and Marion Barber? :cry2:

Here's random: can we please have more threads by our dumbest poster? Juck? Don't let me down....maybe the next one will last more than two minutes before its stupidity is removed from existence.

Yeah, I clicked on the title and got the huge red "Have You Activated Your Account" page. I figured I was just in time for the EMT to zip the bag on that thread.

I actually read his post and forgot what it was about. Musta been pretty bad. :lmao:

BP was not going to pick Jackson. He thought that Kevin Jones was actually better; and the rest of them about the same. And for half a season it looked like BP was right. bottom line is that everyone makes mistakes on draft choices. The key is to make fewer then your opponents. If you can hit on 40% of your overall draft choices then you are doing great.

There's a reason he's on my ignore list. Thanks for confirming that choice.

This topic is well beyond the point of no return, yet it returns several times a year.

Not drafting Jackson was probably the single dumbest move Parcells ever made as Cowboys coach. Jackson is a pure beast with wiggle and speed. The very fact that he gains a 1,000 yards every year, catches passes, and creates highlight TDs and is constantly mentioned as one of the top RBs in the NFL while playing for one of the worst teams in the NFL year in and year out is simply amazing to me.

The Rams have an awful OL and no passing game...the only thing they have is Stephen Jackson, yet he continues to run through, around, and past defenders.

I would trade our entire corps of running backs for him and never look back...he's that good. Put our RBs on that Rams team, and you'd never hear of them again.

There...that's the end of living in the past for me for this year...until someone brings up this subject again next year. :)

What if, then there was Randy Moss...and someone jumping ahead of Dallas for Jerry Rice.

But at least Dez Bryant is all signed and delivered and will be there Day One!

Correct. Bill did not like Jackson's upright running style and he also did not want anything to do with Jackson's agents.

Nothing against Jackson but I'm happy with our lineup at RB as it is.

I remember that draft all too well. My daughter had a dance recital that day and I would run out to the car to listen to the draft in between her performances! When the 'Boys finally got on the clock and Jackson was still on the board, I just knew that they weren't going to pass on him. When they announced we had traded that pick my jaw must have hit my floormat it dropped so low!
