Not a fan of the winning/losing percentage unless you remove the cowboys games from the equation. 3 losses make the combined winning % look colossal but take away the 3 cowboys games the combine record is not 10-7, same with losing record, take out the 3 wins it is 5-13 not much better but overall records of teams played are 15-20.

Dallas is a little off the pace I had them for the season 5-2. I had wins over NYG, Chicago, NYJ, Carolina, and Washington. Losses to Philadelphia and Green Bay. I had them losing to Denver. If Dallas can pull off the upset in Denver they will be record wise right where I thought.

The only disappointment has been the defense. I thought they would be middle of the league, but are rock bottom instead. If Dallas can somehow get to middle of the league on defense this team can make some noise. It's all about the defense.

With a #1 offense what could this team be with even close to an average defense ?

I’d like to think more like a 5-2 team. Maybe more. Pure speculative of course.

Win the next two against Denver and Arizona and I could support splash move trades for an impactful DE AND LB.
I think I have fallen into the group that feels this year's elite level offense and special teams should be supported by making strong defensive acquisitions THIS year.

go back to your roots of spending to better your team. It may cost a pick(s) or player(s) BUT just get us a couple of alfa defenders and let's take it from there.
BUT the key is beating both Denver AND Arizona first before any of this...

I believe they spank Arizona I’m not convinced of a dub in mile high.

I’d be encouraged with a good showing and won’t throw in the towel with a loss

So let’s assume we don’t resign Pickens and or Williams. How does that change our prospects moving forward to next year?

Especially if we don’t have a top offense . The fact we have a top running back this year which I never dreamed possible changes everything for me this year.

I thought Dak would struggle without a running game. And having an awful defense would accommodate a poor offense totally dependent on throwing the ball , probably leading to a losing record.

But now it’s all changed for me with this offense . I’m in a win now mode. I dont see many offenses around the league more potent than this one right now. If only we could hold teams averaging less than 30 points a game .

A couple years out who knows what our offense will look like . And if we don’t resign Pickens or Williams we might be using some of those draft picks to replace them.

We didn’t use our Cap money on Micah. Let’s use it on these two now. Before it’s gets even more expensive.

Not mediocre imo. A superbowl caliber offense and special teams. And a coming together defense, that I see gelling more and more. Which is the natural result of adjusting to losing a major part and adjusting to a new coordinator. Learning a new scheme and assignments and the discipline to carry them out. And now guys coming back from injuries.
