The defense did fail on stopping the Giants from kicking the game winning FG. And it did cost the team a W. But the real reason we lost is 4 reasons. Negative four. Can't do that esp against the Giants.

Romo is a superior QB. Not a great QB. He hasn't done anything of great importance. Not really. But he's put up great numbers. He's accurate. Quick. Improvisensational. (yeah, I made that up). He just needs to be a Troy Aikman type player and not a Dan Fouts.

It's foolish to talk about ditching Romo. I won't dignify that rubbish with another word.

It's time for Wade to do his thing. I'm surprised we have no sacks. Little pressure on Eli. They did pressure Leftwich. But no sacks.

Speaking of Wade. I think he goes away unless we go deep in the playoffs. I'm master of the obvious. But he's not going sooner that that if then.

Have to admire Jerry. He picked a great game for the opener. Too bad we stunk the place up.

We lost by two. Wow. The verb is LOST. Screw the adjectives.

The running game was a surprise despite my believing we would have success running. Still.......245yds. Kudos to the OL.

Does Flo have any sense? Is he slowing down that much? Or did he just have a stupid day? Still no sacks fellows and little pressure for 2 games. Gotta feel good about the OL.

Witten. What a pros pro.

Where is Marty B? This guy should be tearing it up. Not enough balls to go around I guess. Throw it to Marty, Tony.

Ogletree. I say give him a chance. He goes where he's supposed to be. But does he know the option routes and the right hot reads?

Ok, Tony. What are you going to do? Who the heck are you? A gunslinger??? Or a future HOF Dallas Cowboy QB. Yes, Tony is that good talent wise. He is still maturing. Slowly I guess. I hope. Personally, I think this will be Tony's year to prove himself. And I think we will win at least one playoff game and likely go deep. We have the talent. We just need to stay healthy.

Scandrick and Jenkins. They are going to be inconsistent folks. They are still too inexperienced. But they have the talent to play CB in this league. I hope Scandrick gets coached in tackling this week. The game film should embarrass him.

TNew. He didn't have the best day I've seen from him. He'll bounce back. He didn't get dumb or suddenly lose his talent. But my thoughts are they are suffering from a lack of pressure and good game planning by our opponents. My other question is the scheme. Is it contributing as well. It's too early to say. Two games is not a big enough sample to draw conclusions. The other team does play to win, too.

Is Carpenter going to be able to play the nickle well enough? Right now he doesn't seem to be hurting us but without game film that's hard to say with certainty. I don't hear his name being mentioned. That's good and bad. Let's hope he plays better than I think he does. Don't hold your breath.

Tony needs to look for Austin more IMO. And is RW getting open or is Tony just not throwing it his way. He needs to try to get away from Witten just a little and spread it around. He's getting enough protection to find the open man. I do think he needs to settle down some.

Garrett had a great day with the playcalling. Those cutbacks were designed and the OL was superb. Some very big holes.

Let's hope Barber is ready to go. I don't know if he'll start though. I'd like to see more of Felix and another RB in the same backfield. Along with Witten and Marty B. They can run out of that formation without a fullback and use one to decoy a LB out of the play. That will bring the safeties up and provide some audibles for Tony. Call me old fashioned but I'm a run first guy.

Can't wait until Monday.

This post is spot on .....

The only thing I would disagree with is trying to get the ball to the receivers ..... I think you should just go with what is working, forcing it to his wideouts just to prove something is what got him in trouble Sunday night.

I don't know why Kyle Kosier isn't getting more love. I thought that he had an outstanding game and was the key to the success of the rushing attack. I don't recall anyone pointing that out in any posts or articles I've read.

Actually Cowboysmammacita pointed it out and even posted a gif of a great block.

I dont think they are random thoughts so much as what everyone else has been spitting in other threads. more of a collection of thoughts than random.

You want a random thought, I think we need a new QB coach. I personally felt Romo did better while Wade Wilson was suspended. I think its time to bring in another QB coach and one who might be used to the gun slinging personality and tribulations and see if that person can either get Romo to work it like Favre did, OR abandon it altogether.

I also think Sherman, Peete and John Garrett should be fined if heads keep spinning to see if they are being chased. YOU ARE BEING CHASED!!!! I think we are the only team that does that and it seems to slow our guys up a bit.

Here is the only play our defense should be working on 3rd and LONG!!!!!!!

This is still our achilles heel. 3rd and Long is now known as auto first down. Why is this so hard for our team regardless of DC.

Personally I feel all the defensive coaches should be fired tomorrow. I know I know it would suck and wouldnt work. Thats right it didnt hurt Tampa all that much when they fired their offensive guy. I just dont always feel its the bigger guys more so the cogs that sometimes dont get it or are broken.

I dont feel Maxie, Herring, or Campo have shown enough that they want their jobs here and are expendable and dont work hard enough to show efforts in their duties on the defense.

Good Post.

Couple of things though, Unfortunately it looks like Wade phillips is doing his thing, this is his track record.

Romo did throw to bennett, but he dropped a pass and put us in third and long. Pass catchers have to earn the confidence of their qb's during games. He will have plenty of opportunities though.

This is the third straight game newman has been lousy and the third straight game we havent sacked the quarterback. It is the chicken or the egg?

I think we are an aggressive team that lives with the big play on offense, whether that is passing or running and we are very aggressive on defense.

Phil simms said the other day we are built and coached to sack the qb, if you dont your secondary is dead.

SO is it the chicken or the egg, I dont know but we are very aggressive and that is a feast or famine way to play football.

Some good points. Another thread mentioned where was Wade when Tony needed some coaching. I've seen Garrett with him and we don't get enough shots of the bench to know much of anything.

Someone at the game(s) may be able to comment. But it's a good thought about Wade. My suggestion is everyone who is coaching Tony have told him to be more careful. They can't automate the process. Tony has to get it.

I don't see a major problem with the pass rush. Clearly it isn't superior or elite at present but teams are passing quickly to avoid the rush. Leftwich did it. Eli did it as well. I'm sure Coughlin didn't want another 8 sack game. Wade is going to have to make adjustments on the fly. Or Campo is.

They mentioned during the game, though the running game yardage and no sacks I think speaks loudly enough for them. Plus, last year, when Kozier went out, and the line struggled, his value was quite apparent...
