Two specific things I’d like to see the Boys do with Gregory

-On passing plays line him up ultra wide. He has the foot speed to create terror for an offensive tackle. And if the blocker has to turn hard to the outside, it opens things up for Gregory to spin and come inside. The wider he plays the more the battle becomes about speed.

-Occasionally drop him into shallow coverage and rush Jaylon or LVE. Gregory was quite effective in coverage and had interceptions while at Nebraska. This messes up an opposing offense’s blocking assignments and the QB’s read. This cat is faster than many linebackers. This gives you a ‘blitz’ with 4 rushers.

It's going to be fun to see how all these pieces fit into the d-line. Gregory and D-Law screaming off the edge on passing downs; with any combination of Kony Ealy, Taco Charlton, and Dorance Armstrong rotating in.

With Gregory back I assume the Cowboys may at least entertain the thought of moving Tyrone Crawford back to tackle while David Irving is suspended.

Gregory might be an even better pass rusher than his college numbers indicate. Cornhusker scheme had him in more passive read mode much of the time and he faced double and even triple team blocking.

Skipped through the video a little bit and one thing that stood out is his first step. Very explosive. Even if he's not an every down player Gregory may be a terror on third down; especially with offenses paying more attention to D-Law.

Let's see if makes the roster first.

That’s where I’m at. Frankly, I think he only has a shot because Irving being a DA has opened up a DL spot for weeks 1-4. Other than that, I doubt they allocate a roster spot to such a huge gamble.

In pass rush situations. But Tyrone has dropped some weight.

He’ll be a pass-rush specialist for sure. I don’t see him playing first downs unless other team is way behind.

But that’s because of our rotation. Gregory can play the run.

a guy that has played 8 games of football in 3 years. Dont expect much.

I bet the DEs will be Taco/Lawrence/Gregory/Crawford/Ealy on gameday with Craw & Ealy offering ability inside at 3T.
I bet Lawrence gets more rest than last year and Gregory works as a 3rd down rusher.
I got no problem having Taco or Crawford at right DE on early downs since they can both should be able to handle the run well.
Ealy will likely get the scraps.

Tank had a great year last season, and Lee when he's not injured. Other than that, not much success. When it's third and long, you can almost guarantee we'll give up the first down.

You need a mood adjustment my friend. Dallas was above average last year and have added Gregory, Vander Esch, Ward, Ealy....while Jaylon may be a notch or two better and the kids at corner are ready to rock. Taco will be better too. Marinelli has a superb reputation and in combo with Richard...this D will be special.

That’s before we even consider Thomas from Seattle..

I see: Deep. Young. Hungry.

Not sure we dress 5 defensive ends on game day. Maybe since Crawford can slide to DT in a pinch. I like Ealy but he’s going to have to fight just to earn a roster spot with our sudden embarrassment of riches.
