Gregory is now suspended for 4 games of next season. How much does this change your draft plans. Noah Spence is the best pure pass rusher and some even wanted him before the suspension. Personally I want Hardy back for maybe 2 years and see what Gregory can do.

I can't believe this idiot . Garrett was not happy in the war room when we drafted him . But the two buffoons we're going nuts. Geeze this team can't stay away from these idiot players

Doesn't change it at all. The only time you let a single player dictate how you draft is if you have a problem at QB. And drafting a DE high is likely going to do jack **** anyways because rookie pass rushers don't set the world on fire to begin with. Get help in FA which should have already been a priority seeing as Gregory hardly showed up on the stat sheet to begin with.

I had my hopes up for Gregory. I thought he expressed contrition and wanted to do the right thing.
However, I went against my better judgment. It is extremely hard for adults who have established a pattern in their lives to change those patterns.

I hate it for Gregory, but even he is subject to the laws of nature and the laws of the universe.

The position needs to be addressed in free agency long before we get to the draft. The thing that sucks is that it's either A)going to force us to restructure people we shouldn't, or B)it's going to force us to ignore/go cheap on other areas of need. Goes to show you what happens when selfish players put themselves before the team. And we have a front office that seems to love to collect these types of players

He can still turn it around is what the fan in me keeps saying, the adult in me knows it is going to be a struggle and I think Joey Bosa just moved on our draft board. I know he will play the opposite side but Lawrence makes sense as a interim if the FA market fails.

True that. Watch all the draft guru's now having us take a DE like Bosa at 4. The Blair kid looks more intriguing alittle later. But I share your annoyance at maybe having to take a DE instead of another position say 2-4 rounds.
Now, what happens if they do take a QB at 4, but deem the DE position too valuable not to grab someone in the second round at the expense of a Starting DT or other position. Now we have 2 high picks that have been set aside for down the road, and wont contribute too much in the upcoming year. I would be pissed ! (New DE if they went that way would be a rotation player).

I like Spence, but I think replacing a pothead with a former ecstasy addict is not a smart investment.

I get it but not the same in my eyes. 1 is an actual highly addictive synthetic drug. The other is just an idiotic life choice. 1 is a full year removed from any problems and sought professional help. The other failed a drug test on the biggest interview of his life knowing full well he would drug tested....

Obviously I don't know anything about Spence personally and it would take a lot of research and 1 on 1 time to make the call, but from afar I wouldn't lump Spence and Gregory in the same category at all.

Yea, let's just draft dopers that have to go two and a half years before they really get a chance to play some developed time on the carpet. And to think that some are complaining about what was paid for quality offensive linemen who actually were committed to the game.

Well an addict will be an addict forever. I know some will disagree but I think pot is highly addictive to the wrong personality.

Hope we keep Hardy, draft Bosa or even go after Long. I had high hopes for Gregory which even included having more sacks than Lawrence, 10-12 sacks I was even watching his college highlights yesterday, yes it been a long off season already lol.

disagree pot is nothing - I have done everything - not addicted

Not addicted, but you have done damage to your brain. That is why the voices no longer talk to you, or so they tell me.

I'd still pick QB in the 1st.

I'd let Hardy go and try replace him with Olivier Vernon from Miami.

Then in the 3rd I'd pick Ronald Blair from Appalachian State.

Not much at all. I still want a QB at #4. The future is just as important as the present in the NFL. The only thing I would start to think more about is if we can trade down a little and gain another 2nd or 3rd round pick.

And I still think the secondary is a bigger problem than the D-Line.

Of course, we could re-sign Hardy to a tight deal. He actually produced last year, while injured. Gregory did nothing.
