Randy Gregory

Why is Gregory a special case? Sure it doesn’t hurt to keep him around technically, but why show him loyalty when he hasn’t show the team any by completely disregarding everything? And I’m saying that not as a stike against smoking pot, but just that he seems to be given every chance in the world by Jerry. Does everyone on this team have seven or eight chances?

Wait...has it always been that easy? I've always done it the complicated way.

Because there is literally no risk? He doesn't take up a roster spot. He's not costing the team any cap space. And we retain him in a cost controlled basis.

It's business.

Right now I honestly think it's a 50/50 deal with Gregory. The fact he could have applied for reinstatement Nov 2 but apparently chose not to, raises some concern, at to me. I'm not suggesting he relapsed or failed another test coz I don't know, but I would have thought being away from the game for a year, he'd be sitting at the door waiting for the first chance to re-enter. Maybe his condition of Bi-polar has something to do with it........ either I hope the best for the kid with or without Cowboys.

Forget for a second we are talking about Randy Gregory. Any player 3 years in a row out of football. How many players can overcome that and have even an average career? OK now add in that we are talking about Gregory and his personal issues, it's impossible for me to ever see him as a contributing player of the Dallas Cowboys.

He was never coming back this year...... Goodell would never approve it

So he didn't want to be a distraction

Best case scenario he is cleared next Feb/March and he can begin the OTAs

If he stays clean he is a free top draft pick at this point with 3 years of cheap control..... look at the impact Josh Gordon is having already for CLE

That’s exactly what Broaddus said in his tweet. Lol

Give him 2 years....one to get in "football" shape and the next to be better...it is what everyone says about Jaylon Smith. After all he was out of football for basically 2 years.

Agreed.

Makes a lot of sense and I agree...however, people on here won't like it. Expect him to be tore down.

Let's see...players to be candidates for the off season whipping boy...some on the list are ongoing.

Dez Bryant
Randy Gregory
Jaylon Smith
Zeke Elliot (for maturity type stuff)
T. Williams (for nothing better than a body catch)
Chaz Green (though a bit warranted)
A. Hitchens (though not warranted)
Taco Charlton (just because, well, that is just some of the fans and their whining)
B. Mayowa (possibly warranted too
Jeff Heath (typical stuff here too, though a bit warranted at times)
O. Scandrick (see J. Heath)

I don't no what's worse......... a player blowing up his own career just to smoke some weed or the NFL preventing a promising young man from earning a living just because of pot.

And to boot, I'd expect the league will allow medical marijuana use a few years from now and from what I've heard, he uses it because of social anxiety reasons.
