Randy Gregory

He is okay. But let's not paint it out that he has arrived or anything.

He got a couple of sacks in the last two games that seem important but he is not wrecking things ala Lawrence.

So you are categorizing him still, as a hang-fire?

Yeah, I'm still waiting for it. He's showing up more but game wrecking top of the draft I haven't seen yet.

The arrow is up though. If Taco flames out I hope he at least teaches Gregory his sack celebration before he leaves.

I like the developing depth the team presently has. We have a 'rook' that appears to have a little game as well, Armstrong.

I was actually hoping a bit more from Armstrong after hearing all the praise he was receiving during training camp. But hey, he is a 4th rounder rookie who is taking meaningful snaps. Cant complain about that. He can only get better

Only Cowboy fans. If any other player in the league had three sacks in four games; our fans would be saying, "Why can't Gregory do that?" He has been pressuring the QB all season long, and has not played in about two years. What do you fickle fans expect?

Gregory has also been getting consistent pressure most snaps even when he doesn't get a sack. The problem I see is sometimes he's so quick that he gets pushed past the pocket. He needs to develop a counter move that allows him to take a straight path to the quarterback.

Would be nice to have a bit more depth at DE. I think he might be playing too many snaps now. Hopefully Taco finds his seasoning and gets back and can provide some quality snaps.

Also, has Armstrong played much?

You're exactly right. He takes too wide of a run to get around the Tackle. If he can add some power in the offseason I think he becomes a 10 sack DE

He still has a way to go.... But that is to be expected given how much time he's missed. But you can see the raw athletic ability; the bend he has, the quickness, good length.

Hoping he continues to stack the good days on top of of more good days. Then, we'll have a Jenga stack of good days. What does that get us? Well, a game he can play in the off-season to stay out of trouble.

And hopefully lessens the blow if we let Lawrence walk. Or a bona fide bookend if we keep Lawrence.

Coming out I seen him as a speed rusher but he plays pretty well in the power game too and is better against run than I expected

DE defensive snaps this season:

Dlaw-474
Taco-297 (missed this week)
Gregory-226 (missed games)
Armstrong-188

Dlaw is still fighting for that monster contract. He's not coming off the field lol

Correct. Playing 75% of defensive snaps
Played 67% last season while playing all 16 games(don't remember if he had to come out early mid-game last year)

Shoutout to Gregory. He's had a couple of nice quiet games over the last couple of weeks, posting a sack in two consecutive games now.

Is he starting to turn the corner?

His speed is starting to show up

I like him.

And he smokes.

Which I do for pain management now that my doctor's stopped prescribing pain killers a couple of years ago.

So I see nothing but good things from him.

Of course it's a little foggy in here..

Still celebrating our win yesterday.

This is becoming a bigger and bigger story for the team.

Him, Vander Eche, Irvin, Jaylon, Heath, Lawrence and Awuzie and Byron Jones

are making teams account for this team defensively.

Big change.

It would be great for this defense to get back Irvin. But in addition to off the field issues, he has also proven to be injury prone. Going to be interesting to see what happens with him next season and whether or not he will still be a Dallas Cowboy.

I really feel like he has finally got his feet under him again. I mean he has missed what two years. He is starting to come into his own which is great for us. We are deep at DE. Taco is hurt but now gregory is playing. Its was vice versa for two games. Crawford is making an impact. Armstrong gets pressure but doenst get home. He needs more time. Gregory and DLaw need to make sure they dont run into each other. I've seen them both get by their men looking like they are going to collide. That's a great duo to have.

Really? He was a top 10 talent possibly top 5 talent coming out....we all know Taco wasn't or we wouldn't have him.

Anybody who knows anything realized it'd take Taco a couple years to get going...after the end of next season how about we see where Tacos at? He's got all of the things required to be a pretty decent player in this league. He may never get there but judging him now is simply stupid. It doesn't help that Lawrence is in front of him though. Taco is an LDE.
I like Taco. You can see he can be a very good player. I just dont think he will get enough snaps to develop. DLaw and now an ascending Gregory may keep him on the bench. I still feel Taco can push his way into the rotation. I feel by next season he should be a force

I dont think he will ever be a game wrecker at DE. He may get you 10 plus sacks but if you recall he was projected to play outside linebacker in the nfl, or play in a 3-4 scheme. Hes very similar to vic Beasley that plays for the falcons that had two sacks vs us. . If he played in that scheme he may get 20 sacks because he has the speed, length and quickness for the position. As a DE has to lineup different and has more responsibility vs the run. Where as a Right OLBs main responsibility is to get to the QB. Gregory can still probably get 10-15 sacks as a DE but I think he could reach 18-22 as an OLB he is that good he just doesnt have that body type
