I might not be breaking news, but I don't know how many Cowboys fans would have any interest in watching A football life featuring Matt Millen. So here's the story I heard today regarding Matt Millen's college recruiter visits.

Matt said to Randy, `You know, I worked out with you all week. Every place I visited, I challenged the toughest guy on the team in arm wrestling,'-" Melosky remembered.
White, who had won all kinds of honors in his college career, wasn't about to back down from the challenge.

So, with Melosky as the referee, the two big linemen went at it.

"I go `Bam' and I have him and I say, `You're goin' down!' " Millen said. "I look up at him and he's goin' like this (a smirk on his face) and I say, `Uh-oh.'

I wish the Cowboys would find a Manster clone somehow. He is probably my favorite Cowboy.

And one of the nicest guys yow will ever meet off the field. Have met him 3 or 4 times and he is gracious and funny. But still scary and still has the guns.

Incredibly humble. When I was a kid, I went fishing with my dad and brother to Lake Lewisville. When we get to the boat launch, who do you think is entering his bass boat into the water? Randy White! He stopped to talk to us and invited us to follow him (my brother had a boat) to his favorite fishing spot. We did and caught a lot of bass. A great memory for me.

The most disruptive interior lineman ever in my opinion.

Too Tall and Martin benefited greatly from him being double and sometimes triple teamed on a regular basis. He was a relentless football player who i enjoyed watching very much.

Wow, great stories. thanks for reminiscing, the fact that he's a fisherman too, just confirms that down to earth quality.

Too Tall Jones, Tony Dorsett, Randy White ... it seemed like the Cowboys took advantage of a lot of teams to manipulate the draft and steal top talent.

He really is. He let me put on his ring like it was nothing. It was a bit large on me but fit fairly close on my thumb lol

They did. Were it not for the Morton heist on the Giants, Dallas may have had a different look in the late 1970s. Brandt and Schramm conned teams out of picks on a regular basis, but they also blew some too.

Randy and Roger, forever my favorite Cowboys. I love the 90s team, but these 2 were phenomenal. No disrespect to the Triplets, and Darren Woodson etc.

Can't forget Mr. Cowboy.

Heard someone say that if he was not such a nice guy he would have been the best we ever saw and he still is a HOF'er.

I honestly believe Randy White could still go out for a full series in an NFL game and do OK.

He keeps himself in tremendous shape.

Looks like he has the guns too, but he does walk a little funny now.

I only saw the tail end of Bob Lilly's career whereas I saw Randy White's entire career at DT. Lilly was, and still is, a nice guy - a humble man and real gentleman. But he was ferocious on the field. From all I have seen, researched and heard - including accounts by former great player and coaches as well as football writers - many would consider Lilly the greatest defensive tackle of all time. His competition for that honor is great, from Merlin Olsen to Mean Joe Greene to Alan Page to Randy White and others. I love the Manster (I wrote an article about him for YDCFF) but I do think Lilly was the greatest interior lineman of all time, and he ranks with Staubach as the two greatest Cowboys of all time.
