Once upon a time, the Cowboys drafted a linebacker in the first round who was considered the best defensive player in the draft. Unfortunately, the Cowboys decided to play him on the defensive line, instead at the linebacker position.

Nevertheless, he inspired his team with his hustle and unstoppable motor - chasing down receivers way down the field, and becoming what many people believe is the best defensive player in the NFL.

White was the backup MLB in his first 2 seasons.

He was moved to DT in his.3rd season.

Season 3 Results:
- All Pro
- Pro Bowl
- Super Bowl Co-MVP

Dan Quinn smarter than Landry. Quinn did not waste time having a Super Star playing special teams in his first 2 seasons. Probably should have fired Landry and Stautner for that moronic decision...

Speedwise, Micah would run circles around White, but both incredible players.

Speedwise, Micah would run circles around player X.

Player X = Most players that have ever stepped
on a football field.

Parsons beat Tyreek Hill in the NFL's fastest man competition.

I hope you don't think I was dissing Randy White.

I'm just gonna go ahead and assume you were expanding on my point. ;)

Randy White as a OLB in a 3/4 Defense would have made no one take notice of Lawrence Taylor. Yea I said it. Landry had to literally change the DT stance to keep White from messing up his Flex Defense with his cat like quickness, strength, and penetration, as the flex was not the Jimmy Johnson attack 4-3. He was a DE/LB in college. He had 111 sacks being crouched like a frog before the play. No other DL has ever had that stance on any DL in NFL history. White was literally a manster on the football field. You could not out power him, out run him, and out intimidate him. OL still are made at him, see Mark May, as he had all that physical football ability and then used his black belt in karate to cause even more havoc. He trained and coached Leroi Glover who became an All Pro. His hand combat has been outlawed in the NFL. White could single handily win football games from his frog position at DT, see Saints game on Youtube.

But, as White would say. When Tony Dorsett went out the back field on a pass pattern for him to cover, he knew his days at LB in the Landry Flex defense was over.

Simba/Micah Parsons is a LB that can play every LB position and is also your best pass rushing DE. He can cover backs out the backfield. Landry would have treated him like he did Hollywood Henderson with more spectacular results. Remember drugs ended Henderson career and Lawrence Taylor, perhaps the greatest player ever at the position, said that he was inspired to wear 56 because it was Henderson's number.

In Simba the Lion King you are seeing Hollywood Henderson 3.0 and Lawrence Taylor 2.0. As far as Randy White, you will never see him again PERIOD.

Put # 11 at dt then we can talk, the manster by a mile, Randy never left the field, never rotated out with anyone, matter of fact, that front 4 never left the field.. don't get me wrong,I think #11 is really good, but comparing him to randy is a joke,no offense.

Randy was a bad man. I see some of that in Parsons for sure. You gotta be a bad man to dominate like they do on a football field.

Randy white was 40 feet tall and trampled QBs atop his blue ox.

Whenever I hear about "A player chasing someone down," I instantly think of Larry Allen. Then, all of the examples of chasing someone down seem relevant.

You know I like Randy like any old cowboy fan but seriously these are two different players and micah is in a league by himself
I think Sam Wiliams more like Randy at least has that type of potential and is wearing his # , hmm :))

It was a different time back then rookies didn't do much for a year or 2
I'd like to call Parsons a hybrid between Deon Sanders and Randy White lol

Randy White was a college DE. He was the best defensive player in college football 1974, and made Maryland into a top 10 team. He ran a sub 4.7 40 and was very fast on the field. He was the 2nd player selected in the NFL draft in 1975. I was at that draft. Landry wasted his time not starting him full-time as a rookie on the DL. But Harvey Martin was injured and Randy started two games as a rookie at RDE and did very well. True, he did not "start" in his first two years, but he did play alot. Manster controlled the line of scrimmage. Landry had three studs drafted in 3 consecutive years, Harvey Martin,Too Tall, and the Manster, the gretaest 1, 2, 3 infusion of DL talent in Cowboys' history.
