Rangers and beltre possible 6 yr 90 mill?

watching the score and cbs11 said there are two latin media outlets reporting tonight that adrian beltre is going to sign with the rangers for 6 years and 90 million.

I havent seen this anywhere else.

I would be shocked and disturbed by that if true.

Hell no. Why would they do such a thing? The guy isn't worth anywhere near that much.

Actually the rumor was six-years @ $96M and the Rangers said no such agreement exists.

No way I pay Beltre that type of money in the first place, but if the Rangers sign him, they also lose their first round draft pick. Hell NO!

Beltre is a good defensive player, but for $10M+ you've got to be good on offense too. The only time he shows any real offense is in contract years.

What does that mean? He is a lazy player.

I agree, I think idiot (Scott Boras) and Beltre leaking false information to try and get the Angels to up their offer.

Not sure if there is any merit to it, but here is something that was recently released.

Basically same thing that was said, but saying they are very close to a deal. Says something about moving Young to utility infield / designated hitter. That would be Vlad is gone and we would probably have the best infield in baseball on the left side. (Beltre / Andrus)

What I don't understand is they say it's for $90+M, but they say the Angels highest offer was only $70M. Why would you pay a man $20M more than the next team?

If they keep Young and sign Beltre, thats $30M a year for those two. Might as well forget keeping all of our young guys coming up in two years.

6 years for 15M per.
