No offense, but you could do this to every owner and/or GM. Everybody misses, everybody passes on players in the draft.

second that. every owner/gm makes mistakes, sure Jerry's mistakes are now glaring because of recent failures, but thats what makes anyone better: the gambles they take

jerry wants to win, he's willing to spend money to do it and get the best players, someone with this mentality will bring one home

Ditto for Tank and Pacman. Didn't give up much at all for either guy. I think they're fantastic decisions, actually. Low risk/high reward. Do it every time.

  1. Jimmy Johnson

He has an amazing way of getting rid of people that produce.

he made the right choice getting rid of TO. TO's talent level had diminished so far that his locker room issues and volatile personality was not worth it.

I mean, TO might have had good stats himself - but did we ever get anywhere with him here? we didn't even win a playoff game. getting rid of TO will open the door for younger guys to play, we don't need him and this will allow Romo to be the leader he is without having to stroke Owens ego at the same time.

Why do people continue to think this? Because of his stats? Witten's stats dropped off the same amount this year that TOs did, does that mean Witten's talent level has diminished? Or maybe it's because Romo was hurt most of the season?

TO was worth the risk and paid some dividends. It was just time to move on.
Carter was terrible, he was never gonna be a slash.
Moss proved everyone right until last year. Headcase.
The others were low risk-high upside gambles that mostly failed.

His biggest mistake IMO was Campo as Head Coach, followed by Gailey. Switzer was fun and he still got a ring.
I still don't blame him completely for Jimmy. They both were wrong, but you never publicly insult your boss.

yes, if you look at his stats across the board he has fallen off a level - as did Witten, BUT the difference is that Witten is not such a divisive force. I guarantee you if Owens did not have personality issues he would be still ON this team

You said that TO's production dropped off because his talent level dropped. But the only proof of that is his production drop off. Yet Witten had the same production drop off. It's almost identical how much their production dropped off. Maybe, it has nothing to do with talent and more to do with Romo being injured?

i agree with you in the fact that Witten has dropped of as well, but it was TO's attitude coupled with his decline in talent that decided his fate

sure his production was an effect or Romo's injury but I wouldn't blame it all on that.
