Rank the QT movies

I didn't know that, but it makes sense. There's his type of quirky passionate brutality all over that movie.

Pulp Fiction is one of my all-time fav's. Great cast.

He sold the script for True Romance to give him money to make Reservoir dogs.

I know some will cry blasphemy but I kind of liked True Romance better.

I did, too; difficult to find a romance that's not a chick flick.

I don't know if I need to rank them. Some are better than others. Glad someone mentioned True Romance as I find that to be a great one.

I liked all of them. I would say the only ones that I think are Meh are Jackie Brown and Death Proof.

Also don't forget that he was also a writer on Natural Born killers.

Natural Born Killers is one of my all time favorites.

Robert Richardson shot that as well (was shooting for oliver stone for years)

The cast of True Romance also includes a lot of actors that Tarantino used in other movies. Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Walken, Brad Pitt, Chris Penn...

Some trivia from IMDB...

Although this movie was not directed by Quentin Tarantino, it is still considered part of the Tarantino universe. The two key pieces of evidence is Lee Donowitz being the son of Sgt.. Donnie Donowitz from Inglourious Basterds (2009), this being confirmed from Tarantino himself. The second pieces of evidence is the fact that Mr. White fromReservoir Dogs (1992) mentioned working with a girl named "Alabama".

Second that w/o hesitation. Only film (drama genre) better out of the group over True Romance is probably Pulp Fiction due to originality/cast.

I don't remember Samuel L. Jackson in True Romance? What character was he in that one? I know he had a small part in Goodfellas bf he made it that surprised me after re-watching more recently (didn't remember his part as driver in the Airport robbery).

He and drexel met up in a hotel room about the drug deal (I think this is where the cocaine was in the suit case) and they talk about a non family friendly topic and Drexel killed him with the shotgun.

I'm getting old...:( Totally spaced on the entire scene. Been awhile but would've thought I would have remembered him. Tks BP

It was pretty quick other than being a little funny because of the dirty talk there was not much to the scene other than to further illustrate that Drexel is a bad guy IMO.

Yeah, but Stone absolutely butchered the script. So much so that Tarantino no longer wants his name mentioned with the film.

Tarantino also penned the Oliver Stone-directed Natural Born Killers (1994), but disowned that film. "I hate that f-----g movie," he said. "If you like my stuff, don't watch that movie.

for me:

Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Django Unchained
Kill Bills
Inglorious *******s
Jackie Brown
Death Proof

I'd give everything above Death Proof 8.5 or higher.
DP was more a 6.5 or 7 where it was just fun but zero real message.
The Kill Bills and above are all 10s for me.
Captured something magic and unique in each one.

IB was very good but war is a tough subject and Platoon and Apoc Now both IMHO did a better job. No real need for Pulp stylings when it is war.

I have hateful 8 on the watch list but reviews were too poor (plus I am old and busy) to see it in theaters.

True Romance is also deserving of a 10. Might place it behind only Reservoir Dogs. Very QT.

Just tried to watch Death Proof again. Turned it off after 30 minutes.

Agree in a sense about your take on IB. It felt too "easy" and lacked real conflict outside of the obvious (WWII/***** are bad, etc.). A type of chest thumpin comic book style vibe (little to no resistance faced by IB soldiers) to make the audience feel like they are somehow getting back at the ***** for the ugliness leading to/during WWII.

And best dialogue of any movie. Ever.

It took me some time to like the movie beyond Watlz's performance but now I love the movie.

But Brad Pitt's over the top accent still wears me out.

I thought his accent was funny over the top. The line, 'well you don't have to be stonewall Jackson to know you don't fight in a basement' cracks me up every time.
