Pure Talent? I don't know if the Jets have more talent than we do. I know they do on D but not on O. Probably pretty close though...

This is what I came up with. Most of it's just opinion.

1. Philadelphia Eagles
Elite-- McCoy
Outstandning-- Asomugha, Jason Peters, Asante Samuel
Pretty Good-- DJax, Maclin, Vick, Celek, Babin, DRC, Cullen Jenkins

2. (Surprise!) San Francsico 49ers
Elite: Willis, Vernon Davis,
Outstanding: Gore, Justin Smith, Aldon Smith, Bowman, Akers
Pretty good: Iupati, Staley, Carlos Rogers

3. Houston Texans
Elite-- Andre Johnson
Outstanding-- Mario, Foster, Jonathan Joseph
Pretty Good-- Schaub, Ben Tate, Chris Meyers, Watt

4. New Orleans Saints
Elite-- Drew Brees
Outstanding-- Graham, Sproles, Nicks, Evans
Pretty Good-- Colston, Greer

5. Green Bay Packers
Elite-- Rodgers
Outstanding-- Woodson, Jennings
Pretty Good-- Driver, Matthews, Bulaga, Tramon Williams

6. New England Patriots
Elite-- Brady
Outstanding-- Welker, Gronkowski, Mankins, Hernandez
Pretty Good-- Arrington, Wilfork

7. New York Giants
Elite-- Jason Pierre-Paul
Outstanding-- Eli, Tuck, Nicks, Cruz, Snee
Pretty Good-- Osi, Boley, Webster, Bradshaw

8. Baltimore Ravens
Elite-- Ed Reed
Outstanding-- Ray Lewis, Ray Rice, Ngata, Suggs
Pretty Good-- Boldin, Oher, Pollard

9. Dallas Cowboys
Elite-- Ware
Outstanding-- Witten, Bryant, Tyron Smith, Romo
Pretty Good-- Sean Lee

10. Atlanta Falcons
Outstanding-- Roddy White, Brent Grimes
Pretty Good-- Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Lofton, Jon Abraham

Edit: so I did this pretty quickly and might be missing a few teams and/or players, but it's a start.

Honarable Mention-- Steelers, Lions, Jets

Can't believe this thread made it this long without smart *** answers. Talent means nothing, Cowboys suck, Jones sucks, Talent means nothing,,,,blah blah blah.

Hard to rank teams on talent, but I certainly see us on good side of the 8-15 range.

That and the fact we have a franchise QB is why I think we should be very aggressive in FA come Mar.

We're not top 10 talent wise. The Eagles aren't top 5 and the Saints are easily top 10 if not top 5.

From a strictly talent perspective (speed, strength overall athleticism and playmaking ability), I don't see how the Eagles aren't top 5.

That said, it's hard to judge talent on a team scale. I put Philadelphia at the top based on the number of players they I consider to be notably talented-- which is half the team's starters. Just opinion, of course, but I can't think of another team with that many high quality players.

Of course the word talent is debatable, but that's a deeply opinionated debate that will never cease.

Saints don't crack the top 10?

My mistake. Clearly, I need to put some more analysis into these results.

1. Green Bay

2. Houston

3. Philadelphia

4. New Orleans

5. New York Giants

6. San Francisco

7. New England

8. New York Jets

9. Baltimore Ravens

10. Dallas Cowboys

how do you base talent vs help from a scheme or coaches making a difference or the mere fact we dont understand ever aspect of every inch of the game of football.

Answer this question, does an elite QB make an average WR good, or does an elite WR make a average QB good? See what answers we get.

Can someone put together a list maybe based on Pro Bowl selections? I know it wouldn't be the most accurate but it would be interesting to see. (Maybe only looking at the Pro Bowl selections over the last 3-5 years or something).

I would do it, but I'm too lazy.

we're not top 10 we might crack top 15 but not top 10. other then a handful of players we're not even average

Our skill position guys on offense alone put us in the top 10.

Romo
Dez
Austin
Witten
Felix

...it doesn't get much more talented than that.

Add Ware, Rat, Lee, and maybe Jenkins, and our talent is borderline top 5.

The bottom guys suck, no doubt about it. But that doesn't diminish the top end talent.

Other then Ware i don't think any of our good players are as good or talented as we like to think they are

Ehhh...

Do they underperform? Sure. But some of that is because of injuries and stuff, and the other part is because the bottom of the roster doesn't help anything.

It's like the Miami Heat last year. 3/5 of their guys are as good as it gets. But because the other 2 are garbage, they all suffer.

1. Dallas Cowboys

2. (Since all other teams are NOT the Dallas Cowboys, I simply don't care enough to follow them.)
