As is usually the case, we won't know for sure how to rate the last draft for years yet but the early returns are extremely encouraging. I'm hoping Will McClay becomes a longtime fixture in the Cowboys' organization and isn't tempted to migrate to another team as its GM. It'll probably be up to Jerry to compensate him generously enough to make his leaving undesirable. Barring death or total disability, I seriously doubt he'll resign as GM.

This is the grade given after the draft.

15. Dallas Cowboys

Score: 165 points (3 players)
The lowdown: Elliott joins the Cowboys with a heaping helping of hefty expectations. His fit in Dallas might be the most ideal of any player selected in the 2016 draft. Speaking of ideal situations, Prescott -- a fourth-round pick -- can take time to learn the ways of an NFL offense behind one of the game's best quarterbacks, Tony Romo.
The players (points):
No. 3: Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State (98)
No. 54: Maliek Collins, DT, Nebraska (47)
No. 81: Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State (20)

Wow. I didn't realize that Bosa put up 10.5 sacks. I remember tons of people saying he was an 8 sack a year guy. Instead, he put up 10.5 in his first 12 games without a camp. That kid is such a stud. I've become a fan of both his and Ramsey, from watching so much of them leading up to the draft. I'm happy to see them both doing so well.

That said, I'm stoked with Zeke and this class still feels like a dream. Or Madden. But not real life. Don't pinch me.

Why did they neglect to mention Anthony Brown and Malik Collins, both of whom have made significant contributions to the Cowboys' defense?

They needed the space to talk about the big two. Looking at the list, most teams only had one guy mentioned.

In 5 years they'll judge us as getting 3 of the top 5 players from this draft.

I say four. Don't sleep on Anthony Brown. I think he'll be considered the best corner out of this draft, maybe right next to Jalen Ramsey.

I don't think there's any chance of that. Ramsey was an all-pro corner over the 2nd half of the season. He did it shadowing the other teams #1. I love Brown and am happy we have him, but there is no reason to think he'll every be anywhere close to Ramsey--and 0% chance he's a top 5 player form this draft. Brown wasn't even the 2nd best rookie corner this season.

I have not seen many holes in Brown's game other than being a rookie. Ramsey obviously has physical advantages but Brown is the same height as Revis (5'11-1/4"). Brown is likely a little faster than Ramsey (4.33 forty vs 4.41 forty).

I would expect a top 10 pick to be better than a 6th round pick, but the difference in their performances has not been what you would expect considering where they were drafted.

To become considered elite, both will have to get INTs.
INTs:
Brown 1 in 717 snaps
Ramsey 2 in 1059 snaps

Ints are overrated. Ramsey covered the best WRs every week. Brown stuck to his side or played in the slot. There's really no comparison. I love Brown, but Ramsey looks like he's going to be special. Watch the Jags/Texans game. Brown can't do that.

Brown is to Ramsey what Howard is to Zeke. Give me Ramsey and Zeke and it isn't even close.
