Titans have invested a ton in their line as well. The big difference is their two biggest investments are bookends.

I haven't hated on free as much as my fellow Zoner.... But this offseason that spit needs to be an open competition and given green's health issues hopefully there is an extra body in the mix.
Those bookends have really help Mariotta out alot. His WR's are pure trash but with as much time as he has, someone will open for him

Everyone seems fine with Tennessee being #1 but there is literally not a single team in the NFL who would pick their line over ours if they had a choice. NONE.

I've never really watched the Titans play -- I have no way of judging. I suspect many here don't.

I know the Cowboys have one of the best, if not the best OL in the NFL, however, I refuse to assume so just because I am a Cowboys fan.

What I am very interested in, however, is why the Titans OL is so highly regarded.

The high level stats (40 sacks allowed, 4.6 yards per carry), on the surface, don't look like a Top 5 OL.

I think you read the Titans stats wrong. The Titans only gave up 28 sacks; they sacked their OPPONENTS 40 times.

Mariota was only sacked 23 times in 15 games. His sack rate is lower than Dak's, and the Titans are #4 in yards per attempt. I wouldn't call them the greatest OL personally, but they are pretty darn good, and vastly better than last season.

Sorry -- yeah I read that wrong.

Russ Grimm is a very good line coach. He got a lot out of these guys. From a personnel standpoint, the Titans interior 3 (Ben Jones, Josh Kline and Quinton Spain) are not heralded players at all, and are not on the level of Leary-Frederick-Martin.

That's a fact, they don't stack up to our interior Oline at ALL. However, their young tackles are stellar. Lewan at LT and Conklin at RT are really outstanding young tackles that both grade out top 5 at their position in the league.
