1 Aaron Donald 3T Pitt --insanely explosive... but smaller guy. if he was 6'4" 305 with long arms he'd be top overall pick imho.

2 Gabe Jackson OG Miss ST --really, really big. i mean for realz. moves guys easily.

3 Marcus Smith DE Louis --Jack of all trades type who played QB at one point. Has played all the down spots and stand up LB. Probably a
WDE here

4 Justin Ellis 1T La Tech -- a real fatty. weighs around 340. Don;t see him fitting for Dallas tbh.

5 Antonio Andrews RB WKU --can play in NFL. Emmitt Smith clone in size/strength. VERY productive guy for WKU.

7 Max Bullough ILB MSU --another massive, massive guy. A guy Parcells would love. Not sure exactly how he'd fit here. Maybe a SLB but much less athletic than Durant or Wilber.

7 Jay Bromley 3T/1T Syracuse --1T size but 3T type game.

7 Larry Webster DE Bloomburg --yea, what? kid is a small school basketball player who is 6'6" but only 249 pounds. could grow into a player. Not a bad 7th round gamble.

All in all at first glance this is a great draft. Then when you dig a little more there are a lot of ill fits. Guys who play outside the norms of the 4-3 defensive scheme we run.
Even Jackson, whom is a pet cat for me, is a bit of a stretch in our ZBS.

Dallas needs DL depth for sure but coming out of this draft with 5 guys would be pretty silly.
Without Hatcher or Spencer there's at least 5 guys already here for a legit 2 deep. They'll be lucky to keep 9.
And of course there's the caveat that you really don't improve much at all elsewhere.

This would be an incredible draft. Sure, there are a couple guys that aren't great fits, but we'd find use for them. T-Fred wasn't seen as a ZBS OL (lacked the athleticism, more of a mauler, they said). We sure like that pick now, and I'm sure we wish we took Larry Warford in R2, who also doesn't "fit" the ZBS. Gabe Jackson actually reminds me a lot of Warford. He'd excite me in the 2nd.

Really love those first 3 picks. Marcus Smith would be a really nice extra rusher to bring from a variety of positions. An option at OLB, then put his hand in the ground on rush downs. The ideal 3rd round pick IMO. I'd be OK with him in R2.
