Rapoport: Zeke wants a new contract this offseason

Why not? He runs hard, gets good YAC, very tough. What makes you say he's not?

No burst. There are 45 backs in the league that are better than him and that may be being kind to him. This team was built to run the ball. That's why we spent a 4 overall on Zeke.

leonard fournette will probably be available soon. for a lot cheaper than zeke. but is he the rkg???

Lawrence may end up getting squeezed out of Dallas over this because I don't think they are letting Zeke walk.

Win a couple playoff games, lock him up. I’m good

This wasn't surprising. The question is will we give it to him?

It may be better if we extend him now in terms of cap on down the road. I don't think we will extend him two years early.
We will pay the man.

No problem.

We can adjust Garrett's $8 mil/yr. deal to help.

They should do him like the Steelers did Bell. Let him play out his 5 year contract then tag him for 2 years. I wouldn't commit a lot a money to a RB especially one I can't trust off the field. And yes, I still don't trust him off the field. Lol

alvin Kamara will be hitting up the saints any time now.

Zeke is priority #1 to re-sign. I'd sign Foles in the offseason, re-sign Zeke and try to get a deal done with Cooper and Lawrence.
If the eagles were smart (but we know they aren't) they would sign him instead of Wince.

Timing is interesting. "I want to get paid and tonight I will show you why I deserve it". This is adding a little pressure on the one player that knows he must have a great game for the team to advance. The others can get by with good games but this game is all on Elliott tonight.

I agree with this but you know Booger and his stars. Going to be interesting to see how much the new triplets affect the cap.

Putting a team together is much easier than keeping one together and the Cowboys just got better at the former, the latter? We'll see.
Cap goes up $10 mil this next year.

You do not kick a once in a generation runner to the curb.

Ask Emmitt.

We own the rights to his production through his 25th year. In light of the historical shelf life of RBs, his prime is unlikely to extend much beyond that, if at all. But if it looks at the end of his option year like he might have some prime years left you can use the franchise tag to lock up his 26th and even 27th year. Extending him would be a mistake in the circumstances.

Stephen will work with the cap like usual. I don’t think they Want to disband this team they’ve put together. They did that once with letting Murray leave. Romo got hurt and our season was over.

They’ll resign our own and make some signings as well. We have I believe over 70 million in cap

Exactly. Better to do it now considering the position he plays. If you don't already know that he's the best back in the league I don't know what to tell you. You can have a debate with the others not with Zeke.
I think Barkley's status as Almighty Lord and Savior clearly supercedes any claim Zeke might have as the best in the league.
