I flew Southwest about a year ago and the female flight attendant was absolutely hilarious. She had everyone on the flight rolling. I can't remember what all she said but i remember it was one of the most enjoyable flights i've ever had. At the end of the flight and her final announcements, everyone on the plane clapped very loudly and she came back on on the PA system said thank you very much only to follow it up with "now get out".

:laugh1:

You really have to ask, are business's finding 5 year olds to run the companies?

We;ve fallen to rapping attendants, because why, 5 flights and hes beat? Someone should have gotten up, asked for the mic and just gave the normal speech they hear when they are on the plane again and agian and again and let him sit down if hes to tired.

I guess to each his own but i would rather the flight attendants have a sense of humor and are entertaining.

BTW, I really doubt he was rapping because he was tired, i'm sure it was just part of his shtick.

you know what should be part of his shtick, just doing his job well and making sure his speech is clear and well spoken, what if he has people in the back really not listening, or older people who dont speak english real well.

Business's are just getting desperate and any little trick they think works, but it doesnt. I watched another documentary on an airline that trained its flight attendants, but treated them like children, and the people responded. It wasnt that they did a good job, it was because they can act like kids during the training, than find out, the job is more difficult than they got during the training. It was horrible.

Lighten up, Francis...

I think it's highly likely that the travellers, especially the veteran travellers, listened to his spiel more closely than they usually would, and he covered everything I remember flight attendants emphasizing before the flight...

So perhaps it's time you remove that rather large board from your anus...

And not for nothing, but do you really think those "older people who don't speak english real well" would understand him any better if he wasn't rapping??

Are you really getting this worked up over this?

And how is this some sort of act of desperation on Southwest's part? I've yet to see an advertisement for southwest that mentions rapping flight attendants.

IMO letting employees do what they can to make their jobs more enjoyable as long as it fits within the lines of professionalism it perfectly fine.

I really don't think anyone pays attention to that speech anyway. Whats it matter how it is delivered?

Someone telling you how to use the seatbelt. Not exactly rocket science were dealing with here. Just like David Spade said in Tommy Boy.

"If you guys don't know how to use a seatbelt, just ring your call button and Tommy will come back there and hit you on the head with a tack hammer because you're a ******"

Everything else is crash related and if you actually need that info, odds are you really won't need it.

I enjoyed that.

I always like it when a man enjoys his work...

I once took a brief vacation in Williamsburg (why, I don't really know), and went to an Olive Garden one night for supper... the place was packed, and they had this old, old black man working as a greeter, informing people as to the wait times... it was a grunt job, on the par with being a greeter at Wal-Mart, but that man brought his dignity with him... he was polite, he was engaging, he made the time pass faster... I really didn't mind waiting, I was having a blast watching him work that line...

And as a result, he gave dignity to his job... I learned from that man, a lesson my Dad always tried to teach me, that a job does not give dignity to a man, a man gives dignity to his job... my Dad always said "if you're gonna haul trash for a living, be the best damned trash man who ever lived"...

I made a point of stopping and telling that old man how impressed I was with him on the way out...

To me, that's what that flight attendant is doing, giving dignity to his job, simply by having a little fun with it, and allowing the passengers to have a little fun along the way...

I'll bet at least 90 per cent of his passengers are quite favorably impressed with him...

I'm all a-tremble at the thought of facing your wrath... :D

In case you haven't noticed, I'm not the only one mocking you for your take on the rapping flight attendant... you made yourself look like some cranky old guy with no sense of humor...

I mean, I'm a cranky old guy, but I do have a well-developed sense of humor... so once again, I say to you:

Lighten up, Francis...
