I always like it when a man enjoys his work...
I once took a brief vacation in Williamsburg (why, I don't really know), and went to an Olive Garden one night for supper... the place was packed, and they had this old, old black man working as a greeter, informing people as to the wait times... it was a grunt job, on the par with being a greeter at Wal-Mart, but that man brought his dignity with him... he was polite, he was engaging, he made the time pass faster... I really didn't mind waiting, I was having a blast watching him work that line...
And as a result, he gave dignity to his job... I learned from that man, a lesson my Dad always tried to teach me, that a job does not give dignity to a man, a man gives dignity to his job... my Dad always said "if you're gonna haul trash for a living, be the best damned trash man who ever lived"...
I made a point of stopping and telling that old man how impressed I was with him on the way out...
To me, that's what that flight attendant is doing, giving dignity to his job, simply by having a little fun with it, and allowing the passengers to have a little fun along the way...
I'll bet at least 90 per cent of his passengers are quite favorably impressed with him...
