They have only gone 3-0 to start a season 11 times in their 81 year History. Those seasons are 1931 (PS), 1933 (PS), 1934, 1936, 1939, 1953, 1954, 1956, 1962, 1970, and 1980.

In 1929 and 1980 they started 4-0. In 1956 they started 6-0. In 1931 they started 7-0 as the Portsmouth Spartans. In 1934 they started 10-0 before losing their last 3.

Current Lions fans would have to be 31 years old to even have been alive the last time they started 4-0. If you know someone who is a Lions fan, in my book that is a good football fan, because he or she has stuck by their team regardless of their production.

Streak ends today.

Not according to the Lions fans on Sirius radio this morning. One fan even has them going undefeated going into Thanksgiving day. Adam Shine is egging them on. I've never heard so many "Lion" fans on a call in show. Man, I would love for the boys to pull a win out of this game, just to hear the moaning from Shine on Monday.

If we win, Lions fans will disappear. Probably the biggest bandwagon in football right now.

Some of the greatest, and alternately, most frustrating games in our history have come against the Lions. One of the truly great games in Cowboys history was the 5-0 Divisional Playoff win over them. Mel Renfro picked off a Greg Landry pass in the last minute to help send us to the NFL Championship. My whole family was on their feet jumping up and down and screaming .

One of the worst was the 1981 last second loss to them on an Eddie Murray field goal. The tape later showed that the Lions had 12 men on the field at the time and the refs missed it. I had the worst hangover in my life, from the best party in my life the night before, while I watched it.

A personal favorite of mine was our defeat of them in 2005. Watched the Cowboys win that afternoon, and drove over to see the Paul McCartney concert that night. Cowboys and Beatles in one day. Not bad.

One of the benchmark moments in my Kicker hatred.

In the whole of my life, I have met two Lions fans who admitted it openly. Very realistic down to earth people.

We're not too far behind. 1 playoff win in 14 years. Or is it 15 years?

Let's not give props to the Lions ... they're not the lowest franchise. We're pretty far down there.

I've known a few, all Michigan natives. One guy I miss a lot and wish I knew where he was.
