Until recently there's only been one verified photo of Billy the Kid but a Fresno junk store unknowingly sold possibly the rarest one for only $2. The photo is valued at $5 Million. :omg: The complete photo appears to show his entire gang or most of them. Wasn't aware he was into croquet.

Fascinated with the wild West. If I came across that, not sure I would sell it.

I'm sure for 5M you would consider it. I read somewhere where someone bought a painting at either a garage sale or antique shop for a few bucks and it turned out to be a Picasso worth millions. I know people want to get rid of their junk but you have to be sure it's junk. I pity the owner of that junk store in Fresno.

Auction it off. That picture probably passed through a lot of hands over the years with no one giving it a second thought assuming it was just a few ordinary people from the old west.

Yup.

Does their story check out on how they deduced who's who and time etc?
They explained but I do wonder...

The picture has been authenticated it's only the second picture ever of Billy the Kid to be authenticated. The picture was taken in New Mexico after a wedding in the summer of 1878. The picture includes Billy the Kid and members of his gang The Regulators. I believe there's another photo that includes family members. The first authenticated picture of Billy the Kid sold for 2.3 million back in 2011.

Due to vandals and souvenir seekers Billy the Kids grave site has been caged. In 1950 his tombstone was stolen and it turned up 26 years later in 1976. It was stolen again in 1981.

That National Geographic show was a joke. They kept saying the couple used their life savings for the investigation, flying to new mexico, etc., get the analysis on the photograph and other stuff. Ya right. Tbe NG Channel had a camera crew with them the whole time. They PAID for the entire thing. To get this documentary. Lame.
