Rarely blitzing defenses

I don't agree with this. Tampa was getting pressure quickly. They were making us guess where it was coming from on snap after snap after snap. When they didn't, Dak and the offense would beat them.
"A lot" means some.

It does not mean all.

It does not even indicate more or less than 50%.

Because they run same routes. Very little creativity on offense. Disappointed with play calling for sure.
Defenses are not threatened by the Cowboys run game.
- Defenses can focus on pass rush and coverage.
-Defenses are definitely not threatened by any outside runs.

I loved what Tampa Bay did the other night. They didn't always blitz, but they forced the offense to have to expect it and to sort out where the pressure was coming from. We have one of the top offenses in the league (even though we didn't look like it) and the Bucs gave us fits because we weren't ready or couldn't handle their defensive scheme.
Bowles is the #1 blitzer in the league. The Cowboys knew this and were completely unprepared. 100% got caught with their pants down. That's why it gave us fits and we couldn't handle it.

I don't watch Tampa Bay every week, so I don't know if they were mixing it up more than usual. We certainly did not seem to know what to expect.

Frankly, as I said, I prefer that style of defense over the one we are playing. If you can get it sorted, you can badly burn the blitz. If not, then you end up looking like we did. Tampa doesn't always bring it, but they crowd the line and dare you to guess who's coming and who's dropping. It has been pretty effective for them overall.

A lot means a lot. Tampa got a lot more pressure quickly than success from forcing Prescott to hold the ball.

I may be mistaken, but wasn’t this one of the primary complaints about Eberflus’ defense…the lack of blitzing and no pass rush? Seems like this all-new defense, with “upgraded” players, is almost a carbon copy of last year’s throttled defense with respect to performance.

When the Eagles won the SB with Fangio, they were the lowest ranked team in blitz percentage at 19%. Fangio did not blitz a SINGLE TIME when they beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. The Eagles generated pressure primarily running 4 off of stunts and a lot of zone 2 cover concepts.

If a team can stay on long enough, the defense eventually gets worn out. The Eagles couldn’t stop the Rams at the end because of the amount of snaps. And Jalen Carter isn’t getting wearing a cast for his left wrist right now.

Parker is a Fangio disciple. Dallas on the other hand isn’t getting to the QB at all.
Bingo. I'm pretty sure Fangio lives and dies by getting pressure rushing 4 men.

This top offense put up the least amount of points against Tampa.
Happens when players turn catches into INTs and your returner fumbles.

Throw in an awful defense that is also the only one with 0 INTs forced through 5 games.

Recipe for disaster.

Todd Bowles did try to bail us out.

A lot of the pressure that Dak faced vs Houston and Tampa Bay was from having to hold the ball too long.

Opponent QBs have not had that problem and if they did, then they just ran the ball themselves.
100% true.......this brother sees it too.

Reminds me of the old, old joke;

Q. "Do you know anything about real estate?"

A. "Yes, I do"

Q. "Well, is this a lot?" ( presenting package)

On one of the replays they showed the other night dak dropped back to pass and every receiver just jogged down the field hand in hand with the guy covering them. I watched it over and over and I thought, what is the point of this play? No one is running a route, no one is running hard, no one is trying to even attempt to get open

Per his own words, it’s really game to game, depending on the QB. He selectively blitzes, but guys like Mahomes, he says, are really good at dissecting blitz.

He’s definitely very selective and among the bottom teams in usage with the blitz.
