Virginia Tech cornerback Rashad Carmichael is one of the better players at his position, boosting his stock with a strong Pro Day campus workout where he ran the 40-yard dash between 4.39 and 4.43 seconds.
Carmichael has recovered from an ankle injury that hampered him at the Senior Bowl, posting a 10-1 broad jump and a 33-inch vertical leap. The 5-foot-10, 192-pounder recorded 40 tackles, four inteceptions and 11 pass deflections last season and scored one touchdown.
What teams have shown a lot of interest in you?
Carmichael: "I talked to the Jets, the Falcons, Cleveland, Jaguars. Going to the Senior Bowl, I met everybody. They've been wishing me luck."What sort of feedback are you getting from scouts and coaches?'
Carmichael: "Actually, I hear a few different things. What I’m surprised I don’t hear as much from teams as I do from guys on the Internet talking about my size. Scouts haven’t even mentioned that. I have pretty good size and speed and can play the game. They tell me, 'Your technique and fundamentals need to brush up for the next level because you're going to be going against some pretty good guys.'"
