Nfl draft countdown has him ranked 24th overall, some have him listed 45th round, I think this could be a reason for his rise recently..
11/15/08 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: It seems silly to question the Tide defense, but ... LSU ran for 201 yards, and while Alabama has been dominant against the run, since the open week opposing teams have rushed for an average 121.5 yards per game. Cause for concern? Depth has always been the worry for Alabama, and this is the time of the season when players start to get worn down. Safety Rashad Johnson has five interceptions in his last four games (three vs. LSU), and all five have led to touchdowns: Johnson has returned two for scores, while the offense took advantage of the field position to score touchdowns on the other three. 11/10/08 - Alabama senior safety Rashad Johnson has been named the Walter Camp Foundation National Defensive Player of the Week after a school-record tying three interceptions in the top-ranked Crimson Tide's 27-21 overtime victory over LSU on Saturday in Baton Rouge. Johnson finished the game with four tackles (one for loss) and three interceptions as the Crimson Tide wrapped up the 2008 SEC Western Division Championship with its first win over LSU since 2002. Johnson had 64 yards in interception returns, including a 54-yard touchdown that tied the game at 14-14 in the second quarter. Johnson's three interceptions equaled an Alabama single-game mark set by Bobby Wilson against Georgia in 1951, Dicky Thompson against Mississippi in 1966, Jeremiah Castille against Tennessee in 1982 and Kevin Jackson against Georgia in 1995. All three interceptions led directly to points. His first interception, on LSU's third offensive play at the Tigers' 15-yard line, led to a 1-yard sneak by quarterback John Parker Wilson. Johnson also intercepted a third-down pass in the end zone in overtime to set up the Tide's game-winning drive. - The Montgomery Advertiser
